Happy St Georges day, not it seems celebrated as much as St Andrew (Scotland), St Patrick (Ireland) or St Taffy (Wales, isn't it) which seems a bit of a shame, a friend at work who's English told me its not very PC these days ?, this country has gone to the dogs if its deemed 'not PC' to celebrate Christian beliefs

I have decided to build my own bike with parts I can get cheap, first thing I need to do if figure out what this engine is, I have kinda pegged it as an R1 but can't figure out what year it is. It has 348cc molded into it and the engine ID# is R1-09409.

Hi all, here's a piccy of my new purchase. I am delighted with it as it's been so well cared for by the previous owner. It's got full service history and low miles. Does anyone know the details of how many of these were produced? I understand they were done by UK dealers as a special. This one came from Groombridges near Heathfield, Sussex. Regards Mat

Hi i was driving to sainsburys last nite to get some munch, pulled up outside and seen oil pouring out of my dt 125r later found out that it was coming from the top of the crankcase, from where the cases both meet. How did this happen and how can it be prevented? New seals or something Cheers guys

Hey all, I'm new here and lookng for some help. i have an 88 fz 600 (not fzr, just fz, no genesis head etc) I bought it last september in pieces from a guys garage who couldn't get it back together. yesterday I finally had it started up and revving well, the problem is in neutral it started and revved, (it's on a swing arm stand) but when i clicked it into first to test the tranny, the back wheel started spinning, clutch pulled in and all. I have other old bikes that do this too so i stuck my foot on the tire to stop it, but it wouldnt stop so i can only think that the clutch was engaged, so i id what i could to shorten the cable and even manually held the sprin…

I brought a j reg yamha dt125r For 550. It was in good condtion cosmeticly with a dep exahust sytem. 30miles after riding it, it just cut out Took the head off and was told to replace the piston but it wasn't seized. I was also told to get it running and sell or rebuild the engine because soon it would need a new big end baring. I left the bike dry stored for a week and now the conrod wont move up and down and part of the crank ( the big cricle things beside the conrod have flat spots on them and feel slightly bumpy. My question is what is wrong with my bike. Should I fix it or sell it as a non-runner (I can get the engine spilt ext without taking it to a garridge). How m…

Early Hours of Monday morning my 59 Plate WR 125X was stolen from Swindon, SN5 post code. Its white and Black, and totally standard bar a small rear plate. Reg is HY59 YUB Believe it was lifted using a van or similar, as was taken quetly from outside the house near an open bedroom window. The Bike is datatagged, so if you are offered parts please be vigilant. It probably being ranted across a field by some pikey scum now, but should you see anything please let me know. Thanks Exactly same as this:

Hi All, I've just purchased a "1984" (Mfr date on frame says 4/83) Maxim 400 with 6800 km. I've done the basic tune up work and put on new tires. The mechanic I had it at said it looks great but there's normal wear and tear on the rubber parts, cracking, fading, etc. I'm not very handy but I'm hoping to learn a bit with this bike to get familiar with some basic things. Me, I'm 30, new to bikes. Took a couple of safety courses last year and got my M2. I live near Ottawa. Mike
