Well.... I think Im going to paint my DT-r 50 SM in the near future..... is it just the same technique as painting a car bodykit? ie sand....sand and sand again ( obviously gradual between coats up to a 2000 grit..... filler plastic primer, sand sand sand, colour coat.....sand, laquer? I realise its a vague and poor description but is that how you paint the plastics? Also do you need a booth or can you get away with a wind free warm garage? ( space heater ) After I have done all the fairings I think I might strip her down completely and spray the frame as well - she`s looking a little scabby by the foot pegs! I have only had this bike a few weeks and the buz…

Hi there.....yet again Im in need of help I took my DTr 50 supermotard out yesterday and the oil light was on. I looked in the 2-stroke mix tank tand there was plenty, and it seemed to go down after Id used the bike. She felt VERY slow, ( even slower than normal - struggling to hit 30mph on the flats and wont even go over 30 down hill - she used to go 50mph down hill ) and couldnt even pull me up small hills. I took out the plug which was black and cleaned it up but it made no difference so I have ordered an ngk iridium one. I also took the exhaust silencer apart and cleaned it and the same with the air filter but still made no difference Im new to bike …

Hi Can anyone tell me where the paint codes for my Japanese import TRX are hidden? I'm after the correct white that is on the frame and wheels. Other manufacturers put them on a sticker under the seat somewhere, I've had a good look and there is no trace of that sort of tag being on the bike anywhere. Thanks Bruce

  15. Hi all, I have a 1976 Yamaha 125. When I purchased it the generator/starter didnt work but I could kick start it easily. I took it riding and the battery drained and it died (no charge). I have been working on this part of the bike. The starter part of the assembly now works fine, but I don't know how to tell if the generator assembly is charging. The test I usually perform on the other bikes is to take the positive terminal off the battery and see if the bike dies or keeps running. In the case of the 125 the bike dies. this bike does not seem to have a magneto, but has an inner armature couplewith a stationary assembly with all the wire hookup on it. I purchased so…

I just had the XJR1300 in for it's service, and the dealers gave me the choice of three bikes to take home. All of them had less than 200 miles on the clock, there was a R1, R6 and the new 600 Diversion. Now I've been on R1's and 6's before and to be honest they just don't float my boat at all, so I took the Divvy out under the instruction of using some of the fuel and putting some miles on it. After 40 odd miles I must say that I'm quite impressed with this little bike, sure it's not going to light any fires, it skips about on the rough pot-holed bits but as an entry level bike this is very impressive. Having owned a Fazer 600, I can say that I actual…
