Hi, Does anyone have any good suggestions for cheap 2-way radios that work well. Me and a mate want to do a bit more long distance and it would be good to have some communication as we're riding along. I found a cheapish set on maplins (around £50) but wondered if anyone had used any others? Cheers

Ok i thought most of the stuff about loading the footpegs in corners was hype. Unless your taking cadwells mountain or going for megga lean angles its irrelevant to most of us. Well last Tuesday i badly cut and bruised the back of my heel, including bruising my achilees (not reccomended) well i used the car for a couple of days. (difficult to kick the bike over with a gammy right leg, not to mention my boots). Well i was back on the bike yesterday and could i turn right, could i buggery, wobbled round corners like a piss head. Wandering to the left etc. Its better today as is my foot. I know the TDR is more sensitive to fine inputs than a lot of other bikes but i…

Hi just thought i would bring this to the yamaha owners club website, this is a pertition to stop the new regulations regarding the 2013 bike test into force. Please sign it, this could wipe bikers and biking off the map. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/27455 Thankyou

Talking to Airhead today and funny enough he mentioned that fuel isn't the same any more. I thought that yesterday when siphoning off the 2 stroke tank. It doesn't smell the same or tastes the same.(not gulps just molecules) I remember in the 80's I would be burping off the fumes, now there doesn't seem to be any more and is more like water! I know there is 5% ethanol in there now, but there must be other crap in there to "bulk" it out a bit too!

At the show today there was a stand on the National Youth Bike. Never heard of it before and I think that its great as it encourages the young ones into our beloved mode of transport.

Just ordered a pair of Hornee kevlar jeans (well combats actually), and was wandering what you chaps think of kevlar jeans? Anyone here had their skin saved by them? I got them mostly for motorway use. Last summer and autumn I was riding wearing just ordinary jeans or combats, and If I'd had a spill at 70mph that would have been very painful until my skin would have grown back! The other option is of course leather, which I could find at a decent price, about £65ish on amazon, but only in black (my leather jacket and boots are brown). So went for the Hornees instead.

Started the day still wound up about the outcome of a project meeting yesterday. Got a permanent job on promotion and a nice salary rise (I haven't had a "proper" job since 2000 as I normally contract) Came home to a cheque from the tax man for just under £1600. Very strange day!!
