  1. Right Then. As you might know, last sat I was away for a little spin on my DT, so as promissed here are a few picks to wet your lips and get out touring (come the so called summer) Sat morning I got up early, done a few bits arround the house then had a big early dinner, warmed up the DT and said "chow" to the missus for the day! My destination was a hour and a half away so with all my gear on (was bloody cold) I set off. The trip there was getting better as the clouds were lifting and the sun was shining on my back. The first picture is of me on a beach just after having a coffee. I reached my destination but looking arround there wasnt much else to do r see so I picked the nearest mountain in the distance and said surley that will test my trial bike. My 3 hour round trip was soon turned into a full day on the bike as I headed up the mountain, there were lovely sites to see, many lakes, lovely roads only wide enough for one car and then there were the views from the clifs (gourges). It all came to a quick end as 4pm came the fog appeared out of no-where and in thinking that I might get lost I turned and headed for home. Pick 1) is start of the day Pick 13) is the end as i headed home Hope you enjoy !
  2. A Yes, I never thaught of the back lifting up and him balanceing on front tyre, or rust on the discs !! But I still want to know about the Underwere issue !!!
  3. Did you need new underwere after this happened Is there ABS on this bike ? It could be !! 1) need new brake fluid 2) front wheel out of ballance 3) front wheel bearings slightly worn 4) main bearings in top and bottom of forks are wearing 5) brake callapers not pulling evenly (make sure pistons are free and pull togeather) How many miles on bike ? I think most likely no.4 Let me know.
  4. Foamy, they'll never take you alive Keep ending up in womens wardrobes and some bugger will get you
  5. Dam that little man, Where is his fun-loving side !!!
  6. If the bike was going good before it was parked up and it was idleing ok then. Fuel, when left undisturbed for long perionds of time tends to go off a bit, so it is possible that the fuel in the carb has got a little sticky. If you can manage to start it and get it warmed up then I think if you get some new fuel in there and start using the bike a bit the prob might go away. The float needle could be stuck but I dout if the throttle needle has jumped out of its jet. There could be some sticking of the throttle needle making it not close all the way down, hence the high revs when warmed up. Also make sure the choke is working propperly and not stuck half on r something. If new fuel and a bit of use doesnt sort it out then I suggest you take the carb off for a full cleaning. Hope this helps !!!
  7. New invention for next year when the snow attacks us again

    Traffic lights

Good answer bark ! I like that idea. Me though, I dont like rules and the likes so I would just say F... the lights and carry on
  10. Hey pepperami, What you are thinking of doing is (to me) a really good idea. I have been thinkin of this myself for a while now and this weekend comming (saturday) I have a little 3hour trip planed for myself on my DT. I will take my camera and take picks and post on here just to get you inspired and keep your motivation going. If all goes well, I am going to make the trips longer every time and following the results of these I just might take my DT over to Forfar,(bonny Scotland) to where my Uncall lives, in the hight of the summer and good weather. I think the bike should be up for this no prob but just to make sure im staying close to home for the timebeing. To me it is all about the chalange of wondering will I make it there and back on my little DT. Plus its a bike where you can sit up nice and straight and not have sore wrists or heart-burn from lying on the tank of my 600. I too was wondering about setting up a sat-nav on this bike but im not sure would the electricks have enough power to run it, (me no good with wires) and it would have to waterproof. Anyway good luck with your travels whenever they start
  11. That is nice mate Its the same as mine only yours looks like its just outa the box. mine is 2002 and has just over 4000km now I hope your not gona keep it that shiney think all the spedos on these bikes are in km
  12. New petrol Check all pipes Get fuel running to carb Empty float bowl Make sure choke is not sticking Try again But I think you might need carb re-jetted, the other guy (god knows what he did before he gave it to you--- he might of swapped carbs again) Sorry dont know how much it costs to get re-jetted, shouldnt b that deer!

  14. A then, I dont think this is as bad as I first thaught. So its an air cooled 125. The bike would start and the light would work without the battery. I also dont think it is a electrical problem. It starts, it idles and revs good (just not in gear) Maby the guy cut out the baffles and then never rode it since and hence he might not of set up the carb to allow for the changes. In any case, I think the prob is with the carb. I think the main jet needs to be sorted, this is where the power comes from when you open the throtle, it will rev up ok in neutral probably because it is short blasts of throtle and is not having to use the main jet (still on pilot jet) I dont think its a big job to do but If your not comfortable working on the carb (little to be gained by messing with it) take it to your local bike shop and tell them to reset it and tell them the baffles are outa your pipe so they can allow for this. They will get it sorted almost spot-on and then you can make the final little changes. Crackles and pops outa the pipe are ok if you can put-up with them but 2 b honest it would better for the engine if the baffles were in there.
  15. Thanks for that Link Gas-up, I will now follow the rest of the race just wishing I was there ! Some cool stuff in the Dakar.
  16. "Failte" dan28, to the YOC club. Im not really familar with your Drag but ! It could be many small things ! It probably is runing a bit ritch but it should at least take off spluttering down the street. I wonder is it pulling enough air through the filter. Then I would start at the tank and work my way to the carb again. If all was ok and the carb was working properly then I think you will have to mess-about with the jets to recorrect the over-ritchness But sit tight till some of the other lads come on that know your bike ! Now that Ive re-read this--- im not much help atall to night Good luck mate !
  17. The report here is that the big meltdown might be on ! It pissed rain all day

  20. When the bike is in neutral and you walk with it a few feet,, Then you select 1st gear and pull the clutch and walk another few feet, it will not b as free as when in neutral. This is ok and normal, the clutch is just taking the weight of the gearbox turning,, it will never b as free as when in neutral If you took the cable off for oiling,, Putting the cable back on in exactualy the same place as you took it off might not mean the clutch is adjustited propperly. After oiling the cable it can stretch and flex a bit more (which is good) There is a setting at handle-bar level if you want to be more prosise From lever but-end to where lever rests this should b no more than 3 - 5 mm freeplay (when the clutch starts to pull bottom end) Hope I explained clear as Im not to good at putting into words what im trying to say !!
  21. Well me oul maties, I quite like bikeing in Ireland so I deceided to give a bit of a low-down ! Bikeing anywhere is good and at all times you need your wits about you !!!! In Ireland, yes we have bad roads, narrow, bendy, big potholes, rivers of water flowing across them where they shouldnt, big drops either side and this is only mentioning half of what there like. People in Ireland (in cars) dont realy expect to see a bike flying towards them, they are not looking for bikes because there are not as many of them on the road as in Uk and elsewhere. The silly cunts will look right at you and still pull out in front of ya! What im trying to say is you realy need to open your eyes (very fu_king wide) and sharpen up all of your sences every time you throw your leg over your bike in this country. Never push yourself harder on your bike than you are comfortable with. All that said bikeing in Ireland is very satisfiying. In my younger days I used to love hammering through all the sarp bends swinging left and right, Im not really one for long straight bouring roads and I used to pick these bendy ones just for the challange. NOW though I am much more reserved, still like these roads but I more or less take my time and take in the seenery. People should not be put off bikeing in Ireland, it has great roads for bikes, sharp and twisty or if you want plenty of long straights, it realy just depends what kinda biker you are. Most roads are in good nick wheather heading arround the coast or zig zaging over and back through the country. The seenery is much like Scotland only on a smaller scale. You just need to really concentrate more on what is going on ahead of you. Watch out for farmers parked up in the middle of back roads and the sheep that seem to jump out 20foot to try and knock you off, and them god dam birds that in the early morning come flying outa the hedges like little jets to scare the shite outa ya!!! Any roads can be dangerous, get to know your bike and your rideing style before you start to push the boundreys, this will help to keep the broken bones to a minimum. I have traveled all of Ireland, much of London and just a little of Scotland left to go ! I have wrecked 3 bikes, broken my shin, bone slightly stuck out of my other knee-cap and a couple of broken wrists, BUT Im still here and im not gona stop bikeing !!! Thing is, dangers lurk everywhere so KEEP THE EYES OPEN Happy Travels
  22. You guys have it good over there regards choice,There is only 3 different insurance crouds here in Ireland and believe me they really tair the ass outa you until you turn 30+ I lived over there for a good few years and everything to do with bikeing is at least half the price of here. Paying road tax here is like having to pull a Harley outa your ass. Uk tax = £50 small bike --- EIRE tax = €500,000 Once you turn 30+ insurance comes well down no matter what you ride. Anyway me little rant is over
