  1. It wouldnt make any difference, dont worry about it. Was most likely designed that way for looks,
  2. The TTR is a 4 stroke. Im not sure it would work be cross compatible though. FYI if it were a 2 stroke it would definitely not work! You wouldnt have any valves to put in for starters.
  3. Whats so bad about the question he asked in that picture?
  4. Always diy myself, iv never had a garage do any work for me as 1.Its too expensive and 2.I dont trust other people working on my bike. Haynes manual, youtube and taking your time always seems to work for me.
  5. Iv thought about hid recently too but i think im going to just try better bulbs first.
  6. As said already, ideally crimping the cables and heat shrink would be best. Crimp kits arnt very expensive at all.
  7. On a ybr could you not fit hand guards like on off road bikes? Iv seen them on Buells before and they help deflect the wind. Some simple looking black ones would look good along with heated grips and i cant imagine youd have any more problems. Thats what i used to use on the supermoto and it worked a treat. Maybe this Or full wrap around ones these are what i used and rate them highly, good value for money too.
  8. Why? Paddock stands take the weight from the forks and the swingarm. When you use paddock stands the wheels are off the floor anyway so it wouldnt make any difference if the wheels were on or off the bike.
  9. If you dont like mirrors, get some like i used to use. Zefal spy mirros, were suprisingly good for their size and definitely safer than not having any! Just my opinion but you should have mirrors.
  10. I have one of these if youre interested as iv sold my supermoto and it slotted straight under, you didnt have to lift the bike onto it. Any dirt bike will be able to take one of these stands with or without a bash plate as itl sit on the frame. I used it on a big 650 so it would be fine on a 125. @Grouch, you can take wheels off with paddock stands, i know i can on my r6. Also i think im in the wrong business, a mechanic/fitter sounds like a well paid job right about now!

    Gear problem

As blackhat says, its the dogs. It was a common problem apparantly for your model r6, when the dogs are worn theyre known for jumping out of 2nd gear if you get on the throttle hard.
  12. I agree with the 98 model r1, white and red ones are already starting to see silly money. Iv spoken to loads of people who say they wished they kept a certain bike from their past as theyre worth a fortune now. It all depends how long you are willing to hold on to something for as it will depreciate massively before it starts going back up and this is generally the reason why people cash in for a later model when they do. I know that in 20 years time my old ccm would be worth a few quid if it was still in one piece by then!
  13. I always filter, its partly the reason i own a bike. I have only had one incident and that was in a traffic jam when a car stuck decided he didnt want to let me through so closed the gap just as i was about to go past, I naturally swerved a little bit to avoid hitting him and wiped out a brand new bmw m3's mirror. The bmw driver absolutly flipped at the driver that pulled into me and i somehow got away without a claim being put on me. Other than that iv never had any problems, im not sure what speeds i filter at as i generally focus on other road users trying to anticipate what they might do but i cant imagine i go over 30mph in stationary traffic on a road like the m25. If the traffic is flowing then i probably filter at around 10mph faster than the speed the cars are going. I also filter for traffic lights, its safer to filter whilst the traffic isnt moving rather than wait for them all to set off again and then filter.

    dynabeads

Iv seen them before, not heard of any issues with them and saves having ugly rim weights on. Grouch, they're for tubeless only, theres no chance getting them in an inner tube!
  15. Yeah on a dep pipe but not standard unless you block the hole in the expansion chamber. Its just to do with emissions.
  16. If you buy a dep that extra pipe will have to come off and be blocked off (the dep should come with a bung)
  17. I agree, the icey blue colour of lights on bmws with full beam is painful!
  18. Depends how heavy its raining, im not a fan of riding at 0 degrees as i start to worry about ice. Would happily ride in the wet if im warm, makes you a better rider getting used to riding in the rain.
  19. Avon distanzias are a good choice. I used to get at least 3000 miles from dedicated offroad tyres such as the ac10 so god knows what hes doing to get such low mileage!

    have a look

Really nice, good job. @Airhead, he has a battery... its under the side stand in the 3rd pic!
  21. You can put studs in bike tyres but i dont know if it would work with tubeless tyres, iv seen it done many times on dirt bikes with mooses or inner tubes fitted.
  22. I would have smashed the shit out of his car on his drive way!
  23. Admitedly i have a ps3 but i have a really powerful pc that can play any game maxed out but the ps3 just seems more appropriate if you have friends over and is good for a blu ray player in the front room =P. I dont play games on the pc very often though as i made it for work and its nice to sit on the ps3 away from the computer as it is my work tool. As for macs i think they are so expensive mostly because of the brand name and people will pay it to have that little apple logo light up on their laptop so the world knows they paid a fortune for it. That said they do tend to put good components together and they do work well as the os takes less power to run compared to win 7 but the main thing that bugs me is most people in my industry feel they have to have a mac as its media related =S yet most of the top feature films actually use pc's! Go figure.
  24. My bike was just a simple throttle stop, took literally 5 mins to remove. Some bikes have carb rubbers which are also easy to remove but cost a lot more to have fitted. With regards to the police, if they saw a 650 supermoto on the road why would they think 'that bike should be restricted'? Even if they did pull me over would they know how to tell if it was restricted our not on the road side? To be honest there were other things id of been more likely to have been pulled over for such as a straight through can, tiny number plate etc. In my case if you knew what you were looking for you could see that my bike wasnt restricted but if the restrictors inside the carb you wouldnt see it. I know youre not supposed to do this but curiosity won me over, i was too eager to ride the bike how it should be ridden.
