1980 xs250se low miles as it has been sitting. 13.6v at 4000rpm, 12.9v at 4000rpm with the lights on. Changed the reg/rec to single unit from the 2 solid state items (xs750/850 item). 4ohm resistance between the white wires, 0ohm between brown and green. I am not sure how these generate power, but is the rotor supposed to be a permenant magnet, or is it charged by the inner stator? (brown/green wires). anything else I can check before I go nuts with a sledge hammer?

Hi, I’ve recently bought an 1980 XT 250 and was wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram or can point me in the right direction as to where I can get hold of one. I know this will probably have been asked before but I really am struggling. The bike has a daylight MOT only and I desperately need to put the lights and indicators back on Cheers Lee

Just been told my ECU is fried. What are the options and likely cost? I’ve been told I might need new locks, keys and recoding.

Hello everyone just bought myself a project bike it is a yamaha dtr125 2002 and it has no spark. I changed all of the common stuff spark plug ignition coil... I tested the pickup coil it is showing 285ohms. When I put the ignition ON I dont hear the ypvs motor turning. So im guessing if my CDI is dead the motor should not work or it should? And how does that motor work for example how will it turn over if I dont have battery on?

Hi. Seems I'm only ever seeking help/advice rather than giving so here goes; Haven't used the bike for many months, (charge it every couple of weeks) took it out today but have got no headlight or side light and no rear light. Brake light works fine front and back brake. Hopeless at electrics so where's best to start. Started first kick by the way..

Immobiliser is gubbed. (I think). details are sketchy on how to bypass this for obvious reasons. Any one have any experience doing this? I’ve looked at the wiring schematics and there’s about a billion connections and I have a funny feeling I’m gonna fuck this up.

Hi all! I recently bought a 2015 YBR to use daily. It needed some work (a new engine which I already had due to a doaner bike & to fix the break light from being constantly on) I recently had the engine swapped over and the bike fired up no problem (the brake light is still an issue) Today I took off the rear brake switch and fitted the one from my doaner bike. This did not fix the brake light issue but seems to have caused the bike to cut out and the engine warning light to come on (3 long flashes and 3 short flashes which is Fault Code 33 - Problem with Ignition Coil) As I only swapped the rear brake switch I can’t see how this would ha…

Ive recently had trouble with the charging system on my 03 yamaha yzf r6. The battery is not charging at all while my bike is running therefore it just dies after a little bit. I was wondering if anyone has the same bike and could take a picture of the wiring layout for theirs. i know for sure it plugs into the stator connector, but i dont know what plugs in the other two prongs. a video or picture would be amazing, any help would be great though. Thanks

?Hi Folks Can ANYONE HELP My 2010 FJR 1300 has this repeating problem it keeps going into a false neutral code 37 keeps coming up but the main dealer cannot find the prob an its getting worse I have to keep changing down the gears manually with an Allen Key I had it happen 3 times the other day I read the code (rightly or wrongly) as not enough current getting to the actuator . firstly found the battery had a cell out as the Amps reading was weak so ive fitted a new battery (thinking that would solve it) but alas its not .does anyone know how I can test the actuator electrics in case the switch is breaking down ???? ANY help you can give is greatly…

I've got a 78 xs750SE. 4 weeks ago my regulator rectifier died. I replaced it with this one and the charging system started working again however I noticed that my headlight no longer works. All other lights/turn signals work properly. Any thoughts or ideas on where I should start testing/has anyone else run in to this issue? The original RR, had a three prong connector on the smaller of two connectors and the new ESR310 Regulator/Rectifier only has 2. I emailed them and asked about it but they said "That 3rd wire is a ground. On the OEM it is intended to be a ground designated only for the regulation circuit to use, the other ground is originally dc ou…

Hi all, I have a XJ900 Trike on which the original ignition switch has gave up, so I am wanting to replace it with a ON/OFF toggle switch, I have a switch with 2 connections on it. I have 4 wires from the original switch, RED, BROWN, BLUE, BLUE & RED. Do I connect the RED onto one terminal and the rest onto the other ? or do I need a 3 or 4 terminal switch ? Cheers, Mitch.

I have a 2014 YBR 125 and have just had it fixed because there was no power getting to the dash or ignition, despite the battery being fully charged and ok (apparently it was a dry joint in the wiring!?). However, after getting it fixed and starting it a few times, when I try to start it now, it just spins electrically (figure of speech) but doesn't kick into life. I then get the engine management light giving 1 long flash and 9 short flashes, which I am told is error code 19. Can anyone give me any advice on how to fix this problem please?
