Hi, new member looking for some help please... Putting together 1978 DT175 and have the correct loom but the bike am restoring didn't come with a loom and I haven't got a clue how to route it properly. Have scannedmany images and watched loads of videos but haven't seen anything detailed enough yet. Can anyone point me to an image set or video that explains in detail what to do please? Ideally some close up pictures from another DT would be really helpful if anyone has one and is willing? Am also seeking clarification on the location of various bits such as CDI, flasher unit, rectifier and condenser please... Thanks in advance. 👍

Hello. I hope somebody can help me here. I have a 2008 xt125x for my son. Suddenly it stopped, and I checked for spark, but no spark at all. Have tried new ignition coil, trigger coil and stator, but no spark. Can someone tell me if the trigger coil should have 12volt input, or less volt, or negative ground? I can't see trigger coil is getting any power at all. Is it the ecu that will feed it with power? Maybe I have a broken ECU? Best regards Roger in Norway.

So, I stated in my intro i got this bike from a guy that lost the key and jammed a screwdriver into the ignition switch and gas cap. I've tried searching them and it's hit or miss on finding things online. Anyone have any good recommendations for replacements?

I have a charging problem on my 2015 yamaha tzr50, but I have no idea where the problem lies. From the stator to the regulator runs about 20-25 ac volts with a good bit of throttle applied, but it feels like the current never travels through my brand new regulator, with my battery only slightly increasing by 0,1 or 0,2 DC volts to a total of 12,5 if i'm lucky. There doesn't seem to be any breaks in the wire between the stator to the regulator and from the regulator to the battery. I have also changed the battery to a brand new one, and i'm considering changing the stator, or is 20-25 ac okay? The headlights only turn on after about 7-8k arpm also

If you get an error code 19 on your bike ie the bike runs then stops nearly throwing you off then starts then stops then doesn't start this is usually due to error code 19 common fault with yamaha across the board (it's the side stand switch you can either clean the connections and put it back on or you can do what we did and remove it completely this will ensure you ever get an error 19 again either that or buy a new side stand switch over time they degrade I hope this has been useful to everyone

Bike is not charging the batt (maybe sometimes but breefly and thats why idle is not always the same. Red lead on the rectifier plug has direct contact to the positive terminal. Black lead has resistance... of 332 Ohms. Has anyone ever experienced this on a xv125 or 250 ?

Hello everybody! I have a Yamaha X-max 125 (2010). The problem is I can't start it up. Maybe you could give me some ideas what to do? So, the symptoms are that the starter works but there is no spark. I also noticed that when I turn the key to ON state, I can't hear the fuel pump as I used to. Also the immobiliser diode doesn't light up at all. Can you give me some hint what I could do to diagnose this problem further? Could that be a failing immo? Maybe some water got into it? Or rather is it the ECU? Or maybe (hopefully) there is something else I could check/fix?

Hi all, I have a 82 Xj550 that’s been modified in a brat style manner. The standard XJ550 is a stunning bike and I wish mine was too. Anyways the engine is from a XJ600 numbered *51J- 071786* I’m having trouble getting it to fire. I’m not sure if I have the correct cdi box and I’ve bought two other cdi boxes the same but still no joy. Apparently there are two different cdi boxes for the XJ600 pre diversion bikes. Can anyone please help with identifying my engine year and correct cdi box? Many thanks in advance.

  10. Hello everyone I've currently sorting out my Yamaha ready for selling however, I have just noticed that the side switch is pretty much busted and was fused. I have managed to get it off the cable by unscrewing the 4 screws on the back of it however I need a new one as the screw holes holding the main part to the frame was snapped. I have seen a few on eBay but they are different years to mine. Will one from 2009 work on my 2013? or did they change massively during those years? If not great, if they did, do any of you know a place where I can get one without breaking the bank of spending nearly £100. Cheers

Hi all I'm after the pin layout for an 2005 to 2006 xt125x rectifier socket as someone has removed the plug. The Haynes manual shows the four wires but not to what pins. Hoping someone could take a pic of theirs to help. Doesn't help there's no circuit diagram for the regulator to be able to work it out...tia

Hi everyone, please give some any pointers that may help stopping me going in crazy. A few weeks ago the wife rode her bike home and said her indicators had stopped working. On checking I found the main fuse (10A) had blown so I changed it and all seemed good. Yesterday she came home and said the same again. I put a new fuse and the second I turn the ignition key on the fuse blew. I noticed one indicator was full of water and the bulb was rusted in so i took that apart and it made no difference, I unplugged the connections to the front indicators and it still blew the fuse. I opened the headlight bowl and there was nothing obvious like bare wires etc. I pulled the ta…

On the dt ( I imagine all bikes are similar ) the wire goes from the stator an through hole in caseing to the neutral switch But where is the wire that goes to the warning light I can't find it in the loom I looked in manual but can't make sense other than the wire colours being brown an light blue

Hello all, new here! I've had a yamaha YBR 125 Custom for a few years now. I used to ride it most days to work but a couple of months ago it stopped turning on. I checked the switch barrel and contacts seem ok. The kick doesn't do anything. No lights come on. I tried to charge the battery with my car but that did nothing. I eventually got someone to collect it and fix it and he said a fuse was blown! So I rode it home again. A week later I went to ride it and it was back to being dead. Could the fuse have gone again or is it more likely to be a dead battery? This time when I used the kick the neutral light flashed on for a split second but then nothing. If the …

My ignition has been temperamental for a while now, usually I turn the key and no light comes on, then I wiggle the cable that goes to the ignition barrel and after wiggling enough it connects and I can start the bike. But it's finally given up the ghost no matter how much wiggling I do. My first thought after reading forum posts was that the cables inside the barrel have come loose, but I took the bottom of the ignition out and the wires are soldered on fine. However there are arcing marks on the plastic connectors which the barrel cable plugs into, I wonder if I need to replace this. I have pictures of it here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/cR5iqA51Rzkt8xQ37 The scorched…

  18. Hello, Firstly I would like to say I have spotted a few posts already on this problem dating way back to early 2010's. But I haven't been able to cure the blinking problem. I have checked all the earth's, By-Passed the Flasher no lighty. Iv'e connected them individually to the battery and they all light up. Checked both bulbs in the clocks. What's strange is when I check the switch for power the multi-meter shows 5v (It only shows 5,12,12.4,14.4 its a 6volt bike) but as soon as I switch it either side the is no power from the middle nor either side. First thoughts was the battery but my battery maintainer says its full and I can still use the horn when its …

Hey guys, A few weeks ago I was riding my YBR when someone hit me and obviously caused a crash making me break my hand and knuckles... Since then I keep checking over the bike etc. For when I can ride again and have never came across this with my R6 or R1, but the right hand side blinkers aren’t working properly... the rear comes on and doesn’t blink/flash and the front doesn’t come on at all, the dash light stays on too and doesn’t blink. The left hand side is fine Confused, Any ideas?
