Hi People.. Just getting into the motorcycle scene. I have started with the TW200 and rebuilt that one to near completion and I am now starting on an 83 XS400j Maxim. I like to tinker and see where it takes me.. The TW needed a maze of wiring rebuilt and the 'street' put back into the dual purpose persona. She is now sitting and waitng to get new socks and then she is completed project. The Maxim was a recent purchase for barely lunch money but it has the potential to be resurrected to a fine machine. I will post pics of each and their past and current stages in a few days.. BTW if anyone has a repair manual or a line on good parts for the MAXIM let me know. Thanks

Hello, My name is Nacho and I just got my first bike - a 1969 AT1. Needs minor cosmetic work, but it is a real cherry. Actually, while I'm introducing myself, I may as well ask a question to some people with expertise. The manufacturer's label on the front of the frame says that my bike was made in '69, but the serial numbers on the engine and frame go to the 1970 model and it's painted Performance Yellow like the '70 models (it had been painted, but that's the color it was when the original owner purchased it). Can anyone explain why that may be? Thanks, and it's great to be a member!

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself. I just bought my first street bike, a 1983 Yamaha Maxim xs400. Needs a little loving but so far I put a few hundred km (ontario canada - we use km!) on it without any major issues. I am enjoying myself greatly so far, its quite a rush. I have had plenty of dirt bikes as a kid and still enjoy my atv but the bike is a fantastic get up and go vehicle. I thought I should join the forum to help me learn more about my bike and get any tips that may improve my abilites to do self repairs. I prefer to fix things myself when ever possible. Anyways - Hello and go Yamaha!

Hi everyone, Well I've started now on my little Dragstar project. Mostly because of a 14 year old chav that nicked it and beat it up. Its running ok just cosmetic really so seems ideal time to play about. Its a 125 and I'm not looking to make it faster or something its not, just make it my own and moreso learn about bikes and hopefully the achievement of taking something and making it my own. I have never done so much as change a spark plug but so far I've worked out a few things and I'm happy with progress, but damn sure I'll e getting stuck here and there. I could really use some tips on where to source bits like pedals, mirrors, seat and custom bits…

Hi, I'm a new member with a DT100E that has been in our family for 25+ years. I spent lots of time riding it when I was a teenager (I'm 44 now) and sadly I've treated it poorly, leaving it outside for many years. I hasn't been ridden for almost 10 years. Last week I decided to strip it down to the bare frame and refurbish it from the wheels up. I'm not doing a totally "correct" restoration, but hope to transform it into a the good looking and riding machine it was 25 years ago. I'm looking forward to using this forum as a means to gather and share information and show a few pictures of the finished product when that time comes.

Cant believe i didnt get a bike sooner. It is amazing! I have opened the power valve fully so it now goes like f89k and I want to know what carb to put on it to make it go even quicker. It is a dtr 125 re and is an 05 plate model with usd fork on and cagiva wheels. I would like some spoked enduro wheels if poss. Where can I get a bigger carb than the standard mishiwhatsit-thingy thats on it, and has ne1 got any idea where I can get some nice spoked wheels for it too. (as cheap as poss please!)
