  4. Hey guys, This weekend I’m taking part in the Iron Butt Association’s RBLR 1000 ride. It’s a charitable version of their SaddleSore 1000. Basically completing a 1000 ride within 24 hours. I’ll be camping at Squires on the Friday night then leaving bright and early Saturday morning. I’ve chosen the Northern Clockwise route (there are 6 to choose from). That’ll take me from Squires towards Manchester then North past Carlisle, Glasgow and Fort William before crossing over to Wick. I’ll then head back to Squires via Edinburgh and Newcastle. The charity in question is the Royal British Legion and I’ve been asked to raise just £50. I signed up to do this even very last mi…

Been and gone. The day started like all others, pissing down with rain, then I got told as the wife is working, I had to run my daughter to the airport (look out Magaa) and then take my youngest to work, so I never got a start until around 1130hrs. Kicks the auld bike over and heads off into the gloom, thinking 50 fkn miles of this, I must be stupid, but after about 10 miles the rain cleared away, the roads dried up and I had a great run down. The Trident was going so smooth I had to keep reminding myself to slow down as it's a 44yr old bike. About 5 miles from my destination, I saw a guy pulled over at the side of the road, so pulled in to see if there was owt…

set off from a damp Lochinver (overnight rain so not biggy) fist stop was a place called in Corrieshalloch Gorge Garve. I had no real idea what we were going to but what an amazing place it take syour breath away when you first see it looks like a canal then we headed down to Poolewe where Mike fell off his bike. He blamed me for turning, but he just stopped and toppled over afternoon tea at Achasheen we headed off on an 8 mile diversion, which was well worth it as we ended up in Cove at the mouth of Loch ewe and one of the best preserved WW2 costal defence structures. https://www.scotlandinfo.eu/wartime-loch-ewe-and-shipw…
