I must be the only person I know that missed both Christmas Eve and New Year Eve. I can't believe I had nil, zero, zilch alcohol on these two nights. Xmas Eve: finished work at 5.30am - went down town with her indoors to do some last minute(!) chrimbo shopping at about 9am. You know what women and shopping means - it was 2.30pm when we got home. My lad's scooter needed some work doing to it so being the wonderful caring Dad I am I fixed it for him. I was just toddling off to bed for some much needed shut eye when some friends called round to see us. Knowing that we were going out that night I went for a bath, got changed sat down on the settee and fell asleep! My mi…

As a further commitment to developing YamahaClub, Alex has purchased the Invision Power Board commercial forum software. I've spent half the day doing a database conversion from the old board and this is the end result. But please note that the url to use for the forum is now http://www.yamahaclub.com/forums/index.php This is different from the previous one and the only reason you got here is that there's a redirect in place on the server. So change your bookmarks NOW! Your account, passwords, post count, threads, and posts are all exactly as they were on the old board. Nothing has changed in that respect. All you will need to do is to sign in again when you …

This is how the local feds mis-spend the council tax fees. I'm really disgusted at this because being a full council tax payer and not working at the mo, I'd like to see their budget spent carefully. 3 nights ago, some local scroat visits a nursing home at 2am and kicks off the charity collection box from the main entrance wall and legs it. Nice Christmas spirit eh... ? Naturally, the nursing home dial 999 and help is almost immediately on the way. Within 5 - 10 mins there are 3 beat cars and an incident car on site. That's a head count of 7. They do a search of the area and find nowt so they call in Oscar85(dog unit) and Oscar99(air support). Remember, it's cold …

Those of you who know me are aware that I've been looking for a second bike/ratbike since I sold the DT175 in June. And now something has finally turned up....the right bike at the right price too. It's bought and paid for, and I collect it later. So....can you guess WHAT bike it is? Some clues..... 1. I won't consider anything that's not Jap...cos I love the inscrutable Nips! 2. I won't consider any Jap bikes assembled by inscrutable Nips if the factory name ends in "i". Go on.....take a shot! Can YOU guess what bike no.48 is? But have no fear....the rampantly Gay Honda is staying!

I don't get this, I'm booking some trips in the early part of the new year. To get to NY flying Virgin I can go on a premium economy for £400 ish notes yet the economy is only £50 less. The business class ticket is about a grand more and almost identical to the premium economy. Now, if I fix the return flight date the business class ticket becomes as cheap as the premium economy but the return flight is on a Continental. BA want almost £2k for the business ticket and £350 for the cheapie cheap ticket. It seems that small variables in the travel plans make massive differences to the flight price. What happened to the good old days of First Class, Club and Econom…

Hmm, serious complaints from the residents in the area of my work shop. I fired up an FZR600 a few times without the silencer or airbox, just the gaping hole at the end of the pipe and the open air box. Apparently it woke up a few babies 1/2 a mile away, upest the old cronies nearby and made their windows rattle and 'almost break!' There's not much scarier than an incontinet, dribbling, gummy 80 yr old bloke in his baggy Y fronts and a shirt, reading you the riot act of being a 'bloody minded hooligan.' Blaggards even called to cops ! Moral of the story - should have left it runnin so I couldn't hear them. Who said bikers aren't socially minded…

For the past 2 weeks, I haven't been riding due to a nagging headlight prob with the XJ......cleaned & replaced just about anything that remotely had to do with the headlight, still with NO positive results :? I decided to pull the dimmer switch apart one more time to check voltages, put it back together & was going to have a 30yr. Bike Mechanic friend of mine, have a go with it.......fired it up to take it over to his house---low & behold, the headlight now works!! ......has ever since :? .....probably just a bad ground @ the handlebar with that dimmer switch  So now that I'm back on 2-wheels again, it's amazing how my outlook on day to day li…
