Its seems to me that when ever we go for a ride and stop for a chat we alway's end up laughing about that near miss !!!! The best funniest story has gotta be my 1st crash !! At the time I was living in Redhill and working in Guildford, I'd not passed my full test, was on my NSR 125 and thought I was Joey Dunlop ! A friend of mine had told me a few day's before " Your not a real rider until you've had your 1st crash " Red rag to a bull !! On the way to work on a nice and wet A25 I found myself riding over every white line, man hole and pile of crap I could find. Then just when I was not expecting it, Out jumps a member of surrey's wild life. On c…

Hi guys, thought I'd introduce myself before I start posting questions ... Name's Pete, 25 in Leicester and just got myself a tidy Thundercat to replace my tired 1200 Bandit as workhorse/commuter/winter bike. It's my first Yam, with previous rides being MT50, NS125R, GS500, SV650S, 1200 Bandit and current "fair weather only" RSV1000. And I don't drive

I recently got a flat tyre on the front of my winter bike. I took it along to a local bike shop as I could not be bothered to change the inner tube myself (yes lazy I know), but £10 saw me on the road again in under 30 mins. I was dissmayed to find yesterday that I had a flat again. So, I whipped the front tyre off the rim expecting to find a nail through the side wall. Can you imagine my suprise when a set of feeler guages plopped out. I know they are not mine as I checked and my set is in my tool box, so tomorrow I will be giving the garage a quick ring to ask if they would like their feeler guages back and can they supply me with a replacement inner tube - this ti…

Hello, Just joined as I have bought a Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat. 03 plate, pick her up next week. My previous bike was a SV650 so looking forward to the extra umphh the Thundercat has. Any hints or tips for a first time owner of a Thundercat would be greatly appreciated. Any advice on the set up of the suspension would be especially helpful as the suspension on my previous SV650 is about as adjustable as my 3 years raleigh Bumble Bee!!! I understand you need height and weight so 5'11" about 13 stone ish

Anbody know if the mounting points are in the same place on FZR1000 1988 for engine as they are for the thunderace because I`m under the impression its a newer version of the same engine in the thunderace, bearing in mind the 1988 FZR and the later FZR had slightly different frames.

I've got a restricted license as I'm only 18, and have been riding for 1 year - not two. In my first bandit I had a 33bhp restriction kit put in for a 'tidy sum' of £170 to make my bike go slower. It soon fell out after my riding skill and confidence grew, and I felt happy with the ~70bhp that I had at my control. I was wondering whether anyone knows what penalties or fines you can face if the police find your bike to have no restriction kit in, when you're meant to? Just forward planning Cheers, Nick.
