just a quick question! on a normal sunday ride out how fast does the average bloke or lady ride before they say thats fast enough and they back off the throttle and say THIS IS STUPID!. Bearing in mind its a nice national speed limit road they know and the weathers perfect an all that stuff. I know people are going 2 say, depends on the bike and the experience of the rider, but everybody has a limit don't they? is it just nudge the 60mph limit or abliterate it!!!!!!!!!. thanks.

i nearly killed a 12-14 year old kid last week, and i decided that children should not be allowed roads i was on my way out of Bolton, at the back end of the afternoon school run (slow traffic, but not stopping every few hundred yards) the car ahead of me indicated right, and moved over, leaving almost enough space for another car to pass to their left, so i just moved left, slowed it to 20 and cruised through the gap as i came level with the stopped driver, i saw a kid sprinting across the road, head DOWN, not looking for traffic, far too close for comfort (had i not hit the brakes, i would've hit him for certain) after a short slide (not my best emergency st…

Hi all; Just bought a 1990 FJ1200 - and it's big - for when I pass my full licence mainly because :- 1. It was cheap at £1000 off a guy who's honest and has had loads done to it - two new tyres, carb/tanks cleaned, rear caliper rebuilt, new clutch seal kit, fork seals, full service and 10 months MOT so it's ready to use for when I pass. The guy selling it has two trikes and is staying to 3 wheels in future instead of two. 2. The reviews had said it is bulletproof. 3. It was local and I could get it delivered. Now I'm done my practice for my mod1 yesterday at the training school (on their Honda NC700's) and I've had a practice of the FJ in the car park…

Just starting the ball rolling, the daughter will be 16 middle of next year and seeing as she has the bug we have agreed to a bike of her own. I'm not entertaining one of those crappy scooter rev and go things, esp as I fully intend for her to move up to the DT. I have the 125 top end ready to fit (when I fix the crank). Anyhow, I know we all have stuff hidden and friends who know friends etc so.......... If anybody has some ideas on DT 50's or RD's out there for sensible needs work prices I would be interested. Within sensible distance from Northampton unless its really good buy. I'm asking way ahead of her 16th to allow me time to do any work, find parts …

Just sitting there waiting for lights to change, feels slightly awkward at times lol. I don't usually go down to neutral so my left hand is always holding the clutch in. My right hand is also usually on the handle bar but it's free to move around and sometimes I pretend to check my pockets - even though I know they are closed . Maybe test my glove fitting and majority of the time I'd be looking around, having a sneaky peak into the vehicle(s) next to me. What do you riders do ?

Lesson learnt. If it between you and a pig, never try to defend yourself, the pig will alway win regardless of the facts. The copper had the wrong road road on his statement, knew nothing about DTi guidelines, did not know how to target a bike, could not say what part of the bike or me he aimed at. At the distance he clocked me at I was in a dip in the road and had pictues that did not show the bike in the ...dip, he swore he could see it but could not say how much he could see, even though he was targetting me with his laser? He stated under oath that he said nothing after he cautioned me but admitted to mentioning my rear number plate and the colour of my bike when …
