Hiya, recieved this PR from the RAF, thought I would post in its full: Thousands of bikers from across the United Kingdom will join together for a massive ‘Ride Out’ next month in support of the Armed Forces. The ‘RAF Wings Appeal Easter Egg Run’ will take place on Sunday 28 March and funds raised will go to the RAF Wings Appeal, providing help for past and present members of the RAF, including our troops currently serving in Afghanistan. The bikers will ride out from a huge variety of points across England and Wales, meeting up with thousands of others at the Meole Brace Park & Ride in Shropshire, before finally going on to RAF Cosford as one huge grou…

I've noticed a lot of threads on whether a 125cc bike is capable of touring, so I thought I'd add my two penneth. Based on my last 7 days, yes they are. Over the last 7 days, I've covered 468 miles, none of it on motorways. I took a 4-stroke YBR-125 and I didn't have a single hiccup. Last Saturday, 210 miles in 6hrs 15. South Wales to North Devon. Problems: none except chain had to be tightened a bit the next day. Mostly A and B roads. Wednesday, 57 miles in 1hr 30, North Devon to South Devon. Problems: none. Mostly cross country A and B roads. No breaks. Friday, 198 miles in 5hrs 50, South Devon to South Wales. Problems: none. Half on normal A roads, h…

A Yorkshireman' s wife dies and the widower decides that her headstone should have the words "she were thine" engraved on it. He calls the stone mason, who assures him that the headstone will be ready a few days after the funeral. True to his word the stone mason calls the widower to say that the headstone is ready and would he like to come and have a look. When the widower gets there he takes one look at the stone to see that it's been engraved "she were thin". He explodes - "Bloody 'ell man, you've left the 'bloody "e" out, you've left the 'bloody "e" out!" The stone mason apologises and assures the poor widower that it will be rectified the following mo…

I recently found a 1977 YZ125 project bike for a kidney patient in dire need of a project to occupy his spare time and help take his mind off of things. He is very excited about his new project, and had it stripped down to the frame the 1st day he got it! Now I am trying to locate the parts he needs to rebuild it. Anyone out there have anything laying around the garage?

With all the let down from Yamaha over the go-anywhere 1200 Tenere, by let-down I mean yes the bike will go anywhere, if you can afford the dammed thing and as long as there is a road......... Sorry, Anyway, I was considering chopping in the XJR1300 for the New Tenere, but that's a none starter so I was looking at what else I could get.. And by chance I fell over the MidnightStar on the website. I know Goff has one, but my question to you all, well those of you who have some experience of cruiser ownership, what are the pro's and con's of one of these bikes ? The XJR is a bit of a plaything, and the only one of my bikes I use for pillion, so it has to be com…

A woman goes into Harrods to buy a rod and reel for her grandson's birthday. She doesn't know which one to get, so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter. The Harrods salesman is standing there, wearing dark shades. She says, "Excuse me. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?" He says, "Madam, I'm completely blind; but, if you'll drop it on the counter, I can tell you everything you need to know about it from the sound it makes." She doesn't believe him but drops it on the counter anyway. He says, "That's a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 10-lb test line. It's a good all around combination, and it's on sale thi…

It is widely accepted that the UK Motorcycle Police are the best trained riders in the world (not least by the UK Police!), this has forged a link between what these guys do and the normal civilian riders in the form of the IAM and ROPSPA. So in the UK we have Civilian Advanced Riders who have trained and passed examinations that lead to the coverted 'Advanced Rider' status. Personally I feel that this is normal riding not advanced, and those that do not ride to this standard are 'learning' (you can still ride to the standard without taking the test). So, here in the UK there are bodies who will teach you and help you to improve your riding (or driving) to the benifit …

hi just bought a padlock alarm from Aldi for £7-99, i have put mine under the seat of the R1, when the bike is moved it gives out 110 decibels, really neat bit of kit you could also bolt it to your wheel. but i like the stealth aspect.and it beats those alarms you see advertised for £40 , so go out and buy one,

Can anybody tell me the proper rules on white lining? Having looked on the internet, the rules seem to vary according to which organisation posted it. I know undertakings a big no no, but what about when in slow moving traffic on the motorway - if your passing between the middle and outside lane, isnt that classed as undertaking?
