Dunno, got a txt today from a trusted friend Dear All Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam: A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone c…

  2. Hi,My name is Steve, this is this first time i have been a YOC member, and a Yamaha owner, thats not to say i am new to bikes, over the years i have had a few different makes . I have recently bought a XJ600 Diversion that has been stood for some time, it is generally in good condition. I started with the usual tank drain and fill with new 'fresh' fuel, it took a while to coax it into life but perseverance paid off and after about 15 mns it spluttered into life . Now the plugging of the grey matter, it starts without having to use the choke , but once it is running takes a long time to warm up and respond to the throttle (if i start it using the choke it …

Got up this morning, geared up for ride to work, went out to bike, looking at it something was different, hang on, where's the reg plate!! Not in the garden fallen off, I know it was very secure, so where? Nicked I guessed, thinking "oh well" decided best report in case of fraud. Always had opinion police are too busy for the little crimes (£200 car stereo robbed, not even a call back), but today, had several call backs asking finer details. Last call off an inspector of a sort called me thanking me for the info and reporting as they've been able to nick someone they've been monitoring. He was on a silver Yamaha like mine but with my plate! Just had the "CSI" du…

Hi everyone new to this but hope someone can help me . i bought a 1984 XJ600/FJ600 and it was sitting around for a few weeks or so maybe longer with only short spirts now and then . i started the bike and when i went to trake off it surged , lost power , then slowly and gradually gained momentum . once in the higher gears it appears to run ok ,yesterday i went out for a spin , it did the same thing and was choking , once it gained momentum , again it seemed ok . when i got back it was misfiring a bit , and a flame was coming out the back when i revved it . today was better and i put premium in it and it seems to be getting better and better , but still sluggish off the …

The number plate broke off my 125 Drag Star and it was held on with a metal bracket. I need to get a new bracket can anyone help as the local bike and scooter place has supplied me with the brakelight and idicator mount despite my son describing the bracket to him and confirming that it was not the mount that we needed! has anyone had any luck getting one of these ?

Hi everyone Just a quick post to say hello, I'm hoping to pick up an 81' DT 125 tomorrow so I'm sure I'll be full of stupid questions for the next while although looking at some of the excellent info on this forum hopefully there shouldn't be too many. I'm off to have a read and see if I can find some things to look out for when I view the bike, haven't had any dealings with a 2 stroke since I was about 15 and a Bultaco gave me a few bumps and bruises

Spotted a bike for sale locally that looked good in the pics & description raised no problems. Seller stated it had been bought as a track bike but had never been used as such. Was really well priced so I enquired why it wasn't for road use, seller replied saying it was a US import & had never been registered etc. Surely couldn't be hard to get it registered & through an mot? Anyone got experience in this area?

Hi folks. Trying to use the bike daily for as long as possible before conceding defeat for the winter. Any recommendations for good tyres for this kinda weather? I ride rural / main roads to work.

  18. Hi all, I am considering buying a Yamaha Midnight Star XVS 950 cruiser motorbike but have one problem. I have seen in a lot of youtube videos the footboards scraping the ground when turning and this seems to be quite an issue with the bike. It doesn't have great ground clearance. However, there must be a way to stop this? I was wondering if there is anything you can get to add to the bike to stop this? Maybe some kind of small rollers to fit on the underside of the footboards to stop the scraping? Or some protective material to protect the actual metal from scraping? I am not keen on having to replace the footboards all the time! Any help?

Hi Folks! Sorry ive not been about much recently - what have i missed??? Thought I had to share the news that the FZR is gone. Had enough of throwing money at it with no reward so sold it Bought a replacement already, commuting daily which is the whole point! Would love to buy another Fizzer in the future, but would def be as a project instead of daily rider.

  20. Got the petcock to stop leaking, funny how putting the wave washer on the outside works so-much better. No all I have to do is get the rear brake master cylinder fixed up and I ready for spring. tim
