paulrever Posted July 14, 2012 Share Posted July 14, 2012 Hi, I want to replace the crank case cover on my XJ6N. I got it scratched up having to lay the bike down. Unfortunately, it was on stoney ground and attemping to pick it up, the bike slid. (Yeah, I feel crap about it). It seems to me that I just need to; drain the oil, unbolt cover and remove the old gasket. Then, fit new gasket, bolt on new cover, refill with oil and check for leaks. Can it be as simple as that? paulrever Posted July 17, 2012 Author Share Posted July 17, 2012 Well, for anyone interested I removed the case and....WOW! I have some photo's but don't know how to post them. When undoing the case some oil was leaking so I drained engine. There's quite a strong magnetic hold as inside the cover is 18 copper coils. I put it back together again because I did'nt have the tool to unscrew it from the case. When I get that tool it should be 'job done'. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
