Hi Guys, When you ride a motorbike.....does both of the flat of your feet have to be able to touch the ground? I'm about 5'8'' and was just wondering if both of my feet is going to reach the ground flat on a sportbike? :?

I do alot of off road mountain biking and when I started when I was about 17, I had this nasty injury. Me and my mate was riding along side each other on gravely stone surface and suddenly he decided to go in front and as he powered off to get to the front of my bike, his flimsy jacket cought my right handle bar......me and my bike was dragged down and I had ripped a massive chunk of "flesh" from my arm.......the chunk was about 4 inches long!! I swear, my bone was showing!!! It was all nasty and pussing for about a week man!!! :? Nasty it was!!

Hi guys, Was talking to my colleague at work who's interested in doing his CBT and I said that we can attend the same training school some time next month when I go for my DAS. As we were quietly chatting away, a few of my other colleagues rudely butted in and started to put us totally off bikes and lecturing us like we were stupid kids! They were saying that bikes are dangerous as cars can easily knock bikers over (This is true, but can't put us off bikes because there's W&NKER drivers around) and they said they can't see us riding a bike for more than 3 weeks!! (How insulting!!! :evil: ) What the hell wrong with them! They kept putting doubts in our heads saying how would you know you would like riding a motorbike and stuff! :evil: I ride mountain bikes all the time (on and off road) and riden a moped before, and just that itselfis enough to make me decide that I want to get a proper bike. Ever since I was 12, I've always been into bikes, when I became 17, I told my parents that I want to get a 125cc motorbike.....they bolloxed me saying it's dangerous etc etc etc.......and so I've never thought about getting a bike since that day. Now that I live with my girlfriend away from home, I've decided to go for it and get a bike. I want to go and get my license and get my bike ASAP as I don't want to be 10 years down the line and think "I wish I had done my bike test 10 years ago" and regreting it. I love these machines man. So why do you think people like my colleague keep telling use not to get a bike? :? :evil:

Looks mint!!!

If you pulled a full throttle wouldn't the bike come off it's front wheel? Also is it possible to pull such a big wheelie that you'll fall off the back of your bike?

Do people usually pull full throttle to get max acceleration or is it done gradually and smoothly?

I read 'Two', I personally find it a very good bike mag for myself as a noob.

I'm just trying to get a picture of what security precautions I should take. 8)

Is there any other trousers you can buy which are tougher than jeans but not leather? :? Or is leather the only decent choice?

Should carry Samurai Sword on the back of your bike like they do on Kill Bill Vol 1.

Hi Guys, As I'm a noob motorcycle head who's in the process of getting his M/C License via DAS, I was just wondering what clothes do I need to wear when I attend the DAS course? Do I need to buy the following items before I do the course or would the DAS people provide it?? 1) Helmet (Looking at the AGV Demon......they look cool and relatively cheap about £150!) 2) Leather Jacket and Trousers. (Probably at least £350!!!) 3) Boots (about £120!) 4) Gloves (about £30) Fuc£ me!!! That's about £650 even before I've bought a bike!!! :shock: One more think, does everyone always ride in leathers? Can you just ride in thick jeans and a leather jacket? Are those nylon water proof bike jackets any good too? Would they give protection? :? Please feed me with your motorbiking wisdom. Cheers. 8)

Yeah, but some times you might be in a traffic jam or a que of slow moving traffic. Anyway, are there actually people who deliberately do that to motorcyclists? :evil:

Hello, One of my mates at work, who rides his Yamaha FZ6 to work everyday, was telling me that he was rammed by a car last week!!! And he says that there's actually people who literally try to ram you off the road on purpose!! :? What the Hell!! Has anyone experienced anything simular to this? When I get my bike and some one trys to do that to me, I will kick their wing mirror off as I ride pass!! The B&57&rds!!! :evil:
