  1. Have you done any other work to the bike? How fresh is the plug? Is the air filter clean? Is the fuel fresh? Was the power valve working before?

    Tyres...

I've never tried any of the Pilot Roads before, but have only heard good things. Dunlop Roadsmart 3's are good, I've used them for everything on 2 bikes, (winter commuting to trackdays) and they last really well. I'm on Metzler m7rr's on the triple now but they're a bit more sporty. At least the sizes you've got are the most common so plenty of choice.
  3. I think hotels are opening from the 8th of July? That may just be speculation though

I think anything sports touring would be best. You could get something super sticky but they'd wear out fast. How were the PR3's when you first got it?
  5. Let's do it. I want to visit bamburgh castle. If we get told off we can just run for the border
  6. By that logic a donkey would be better
  7. Stick some V power in it and give it a damn good thrashing, Basil Fawlty style. It might just need a good clear out
  8. Probably. Google is your friend
  9. Anything can be made to fit if you've got the skills yourself or deep pockets. As for an off-the-shelf aftermarket item I doubt it - the only time you'd see something like that is if an engine was commonly used in racing or the original unit was known to fail often.
  10. It means you're due a service
  11. Yep mega cheap on Amazon I got one a while back to check for sticking brakes on my car. Useful for all sorts!
  12. I've been doing volunteer delivery runs and commuting the last few weeks. Soooo nice to get out!
  13. I had a helmet cam that doubled up as a dash cam when you applied charging voltage, but you had to activate that function in the settings. Maybe yours is set to manual start only? Have you tested that there is 12v actually going to the camera?
  14. Welcome to the site. Plenty of RD fans on here so get posting in the workshop
  15. Maybe you could fit a diesel night heater like they have in motorhomes?
  16. Nice John I like those RD400's
  17. What ratio do you mix it to? I'd guess that may actually be the issue. Yamaha spent god knows how much money developing an auto pump system to deliver the right amount of oil at all rpm's so why not use it? As for the rattling noise, the only way to find out is to strip and inspect the top end for a start.
  18. No idea on what other calipers may fit. It would be with cross referencing parts numbers on Fowlersparts.co.uk Is the bleed nipple still in the caliper at the minute?
  19. Sounds like the starter relay to me. You can try bridging the contacts with a screwdriver and see if it turns over and starts. Welcome to the forum!
  20. I dropped a tooth off the front sprocket on my DT. Pulls much nicer now, especially on those pesky hills. I think cynic is trying to say that someone may have already changed the gearing from stock. For the cost of a front sprocket, it's definitely worth a try. 1 tooth on the front is probably equivalent to 4 or 5 on the rear. You can use https://www.gearingcommander.com/ to calculate your ratios if you like.
  21. Best wishes to all. I'm glad that some companies are slowly seeing sense and laying people off. My dad's still working, the place he works at have basically classed everyone as a key worker because they supply the odd land rover part to the NHS, police and MoD. Just an excuse to stay open basically. Anyone who self isolates has been told they'll get SSP. I've nearly ran out of jobs around the house now, so I'll be slowly going stir crazy from here on in. I have registered on the GoodSAM app though, at least I can do my bit helping some less fortunate people out.
  22. Been a load parked up at the services near me for a while. I'd still be at work if the top knobs had their way I think.
