  1. Oo-er! - perhaps I'd better leave it at a charity shop anomyously on the step before they open...
  2. here is the jacket, managed to copy the image eventually.. smartest biker in Oxfordshire? no I don't think so either here is a bigger picture
  3. the only difficulty I've had corresponding with an American is that he couldn't understand what I was on about mentioning a 'SatNav', I think they are referred to as GPS in the States.
  4. in a way it's better than a road you don't know because you can anticipate the faster and slower sections I tend to have standard, I suppose, back lane, type routes to get me away from the enormous influence of London UK after that I have to concentrate with a map or plan made earlier using Google Maps - have a lovely time
  5. no windows? who needs windows like the look of the white dog now looking forward to seeing the other dog sheds - lovely, happy days (ps hope that little girl doesn't have disturbing nightmares about some dark place at the bottom of the garden)
  6. went out with a French girl once, it didn't end well though, got a bit scared when her mother came over to the UK....the sad life of iandouglas
  7. awe thanks bippo - i did think of posting a picture but those cunning types at ebay have devised some kind of clever arrangement that won't allow the picture to be copied and posted on here rather a weird throw back design and i'd guess east germany to be the original place of use - it said it was heavy in the description, i'll look out for the postwoman staggering towards our house. wonder why nobody else was bidding........ just lost out on some boots, this ebay stuff is addictive
  8. crumbs grouch, i've never been this popular, think you had better return
  9. my life plays out before me, i wonder, what if and maybe if i had done that and ponder, that .....................................i could have been somebody... then there's hooting, oh year the lights have change, oh well..
  10. bad luck I'm now the owner of a hideous EU mitlitary style leather motorbike jacket, what possessed me, I don't know, I blame work getting me depressed and the sad effort to cheer myself up, well it can't possibly be my fault can it, got to blame somebody. It hasn't actually arrived yet, maybe it will be Ok, maybe I'll love it, who knows, one thing, its a bit different
  11. not just us then.. the training went OK, couple of hours of having to take in every little thing - or try to, and I thought I was improving
  12. you been then slice? love to hear how you found it and see any photos, been temped to join a friend who goes camping in Spain but have always chickened out.
  13. right that's an end to it - thank you plus ta for the bidding tip arrangement
  14. very pleased for you - sometimes I wish i had bought new, about 4 yrs ago there were some fab interest free yammy deals before the exchange rates went nuts.
  15. we all need help I think
  16. Rant I'm afraid, the good news is that I haven't had to fight in any wars (probably the first generation ever that hasn't) but I notice an increasing amount of general aggrevation and hassle at work, my missus is an NHS staff nurse even though part time she is more exhausted than me (I'm full time) due to staff cuts, savings and poor management we've had the same kind of stuff but nothing like as bad yet, everybody is irritable and overloaded, customers won't take no for an answer and quickly turn to complaining/ threatening - (yes it works folks) if they can't get what they want rant rant rant, grrrrrrrr ah that's better have a nice day (actually I'm just in a bad mood because I have IAM training today - back to school for me)
  17. re:- I use an app that bids for me at 3 seconds. Doesent help if its over my limit but it does mean you dont show out early and drive up the price that's clever now then but, in the past, before you had that, what if you see, say a leather motorbike jacket and maybe it had a day to go so maybe you put a bid in then, you see a cheaper better bid can you withdraw the bid for the first jacket please? can't see a way to do it myself.
  18. just to be clear - even if the item hasn't reached it's deadline, you still cannot withdraw your bid?
  19. how do you find the bike or is it too early to say? any vibration at all? what are your impressions please? I had a test ride on the new version of mine and to be truthful could hardly notice the difference but then I have a good mechanic. of course had I taken it up the rev range I expect there would have been a considerable difference but the deal as it were on test bikes is such that if you damage it at all you are severely in difficulties financially.
  20. thanks guys that's helpful
  21. help - i'm new to this ebay stuff is there any way that i can put out of a bid do you guys know please?
