  1. shame mate.... I think the dates were arranged around other things... personally i think its too late in the year but its set now I hope you can make it but if not theres always next year pal
  2. SHame you cant make it John.... i have only done the one and i loved it... Being out with 100 other strokers was awesome... bring it on i say
  3. Agree with Blackhat... I had a 77 RS125DX and it had the same as yours... Firstly make sure all the bults are the correct wattage, it MUST have a good battery... The rectifier has possible cooked itself but they are cheap to replace.. I did all that with mine and it worked spot on after that
  4. Hi lads, another forum i am a member of is having a raffle to raise money for the Air ambulance.. The prize is a Suzuki TS100ER which will be restored... Basically i just want to ask if its ok if i post a thread up to advertise it
  5. Just an update on this.... Both bikes were found... He got the 500LC back quickly as they dumped it when it ran out of fuel... The 350 power valve eventually turned up in someones garden... Chris was very lucky indeed especially getting the 500 back
  6. i packed in for 9 months and put 3 stone on.... wass a right chubby which i didnt like at all.... i caved in after 9 months through boredom... the only positive was i lost the 3 stone i put on in a very short space of time.... gonna try again shortly though with help from the docs
  7. sounds like crap has been dragged through from the tank into the carb... whip the carb off and give it a thorough clean including removing the jets... get yourself a tin fo carb cleaner and squirt the stuff in every hole etc to make sure theres no shite in there... once its spotless as is the case with my RXS it runs like a champ oh and make sure the fuel flow is reaching the carb properly
  8. i can vouch for this entirely as my RXS is constantly dragging crap from the tank and has the exact symptoms as yours.. on mine i simply remove fuel pipe from tap remembering to turn fuel off first of course, unscrew carb top and remove the cable with slider etc.. then slacken off the 2 clamps and rotate the carb in the rubbers.. float bowl screws out and using a can of carb cleaner or if i dont have any i unscrew the pilot and blow it through as well as the main jet.. once down and back together its 100%
  9. My RXS has no packing in it and it gets to redline easily... cant remember the size of the baffle screw but if i remember tomorrow i will whip it out of the standard pipe and measure it...
  10. John nee wonder yi get lost pal Blackpool is north west
  11. Alreet kidda... As John said i am just up the road in Gateshead... theres another whopper of a 2 stroke meet at squires in september... John never joined us on the rideout cos he is chicken lol... He bobbed along with a few other DT boys and still got lost... i sense a theme here John that your sense of direction is bollox mate
  12. as 2 stroke fans will know RD's of any engine size go for phone number money now... a really top notch 500LC getting oin for £6000 and a really good 350LC about 3000... As Blackhat will confirm theres a lot of the lads on the 2 stroke forum have LC's as well as the race rep TZR, RGV, NSR etc and Garry building his RGV500 V4... you best get saving fella
  13. not sure if the RXS engine parts will fit an RS125...i have a load of engine parts for an RXS... if you find out if they will fit gimme a shout as i may have the bits you need
  14. the only seat to fit an RXS is an RXS seat mate.... the later RS125 are the same type but are abit longer and in truth the RS125 ones are even harder to find than an RXS one... your best bet is to go onto the bay and check out anyone who is breaking a bike for spares... ask them if they still have the seat.... thats how i get alot of parts as if they are ropey they dont list them
  15. Canny lad

    What bike

agree with Cynic... a well fettled 250.350 LC will fairly shift and has the gawp factor... stand out from the crowd instead of blend in with it Same with an X7, RD250/350/400 Air cooled...or a number of other bikes....
  16. are the sprockets ok?.... i was always told when replacing a chain do the sprockets also as worn sprockets will wear out a new chain quite quickly...
  17. before you start assuming things start with exacts... get a plug in there and make sure its in neutral... the RXS is not a high compression engine anyway and can be startted by using your hand to press the kicker.. it does take abit of a push mind but can be done.. if it starts then get it running and see for sure what it is like...for me it makes no sense that its ok in 1st and not the rest of the gears... once you know exactly whats what you can go from there... the RXS engines are pretty bomb proof as far as 2T motors go... mine is on original piston and rings and 29,000 on the clock.. report back when you have checked what it does and doesnt do
  18. RS200 is the commuter version of the RD200... main differences are RS has drum brakes back and front and a slightly detuned engine with a single carb and spoked wheels, the gearing is different, front forksand yokes are different RD has disc front and drum rear, engine tuned abit more with twin carbs and mag wheels...and the tinware is different to the RS as well as the rear footpeg hangers, switchgear is slightly different as the RD has an engine cut out switch whereas the RS doesnt.. the rest is pretty much the same...i think the RD tinware will fit on the RS as the fixings appear to be in the same place
  19. sound slike its bene messed about with although the only reason i ca think someone would cut them off is to prevent them takin a pillion.. easier to just remove the footpegs
  20. not common practise really... swingarms are easy to find and an earlier model RD200 one will fit as that has the same footpeg hangers...
  21. i do have one with a key and a fuel cap off same key but the fuel cap is on my bike lol... the ignition is a spare one mind... would need another fuel cap to replace it with...
  22. i thought i had never seen one with a disc,,, the RX is basically the same as an RXS over here.... if you can find one of those front ends then you have been lucky to be honest... just an afterthought is an SR125 or YBR front end would go on... you might need the yokes as well but i cant be certain on that mate
  23. never seen a single RS100 with disc front.... 125s for sure but never a 100... they were classed as a commuter bike like the YB and RXS which all had drums front... if they did do the 100 with a disc front they could be imports and not meant for the UK market... if you can find fork legs with disc front then you may need the caliper as well as i dont know if the RD one will fit like you say they are out there according to google images... they must be quite rare even on ebay though... anyway i hope you get sorted fella
  24. the front end on my RS200 is off an Rd200 if you need any measurements... just gimme a nudge if they are required is yoru RD125DX drums or discs? only asking as the front end off the RS100 and RXS are both drums and the fork legs wouldnt be any use to you however some RS125s were disc on the front
