  1. surely when he says he's getitng fuel he means fuel in the engine?, i.e. its already been primed so there is fuel in the comb. chamber
  2. i really want to do something like this, but on a DT50 it would take too long and be far too awkward. maybe next year when i've got a bigger bike and can get it all planned, a few weeks in ireland sounds good so maybe its something to consider... i feel like a complete t*t for asking, but what bike is that?...

HAHA, took a while to click, but once you get it, t'is indeed a good joke .
  4. Lies! would love to go see Thailand from my little Dt50, either that or Australia, not too sure about wearing all that leather in the Australian sun though. i spent my holidays in Mijas, Spain. there you couldn't move without getting flattened by people wearing only a helmet for protection (stop sniggering...) its no surprise mopeds have such a bad reputation

the only bike i can correctly identify is the DT50 i quite like the R6, looks very pointy and angular, like a stealth fighter...

    THIS FORUM

yeh, noticed the feedback button a few days ago, i said the forum is well laid out and usefull but could do with a darker color scheme to suit the R6 banner at the top of the page. The forum has adverts because when you use those advert links the forum gets a bit of money towards running costs (which arent cheap!)

in the second picture looks like the scumbag is carrying a set of bolt cutters. probably incase they needed to cut through padlocks or chains, i would think they may have been after your bike(s) as i cant see how they would use bolt cutters to break into a car or house... best send those pics to the police and see what they say, the second to last photo may be of some use if he is known to the police, and no doubt he is. stay safe mate
  8. i would think it would be the calipers that are sticking, it may be worth taking them off, stripping them down and cleaning all the shite off them. failing that, try a different set of calipers if the chain is worn its worth changing the chain and sprockets as a set (i did when i got my DT50 for peace of mind) and it will occasionally need a bit of adjusting as it stretches (should be around 1% for sealed chains, 1.5% for non sealed

ooh... er, blimey... you've got a kid and you still look 26? ... and you still wear tight fitting uniforms? (see the parking thread)... i feel so dirty all of a sudden...

... who says you dont look 26?, looking at your avitar i would say its very possible, mainly the hair, eyes and the lack of wrinkles that make you looks so youthful, if you are older than 26 and looking like that i'm very impressed and you obviously take very good care of yourself! im not 36 and i bitterly resent the accusations... take 20 years off and that'll be right (why else you think im riding a 50cc?) and i dont need a bigger shovel, i'm fine with my teaspoon thankyou very much!

women are like wine and cheese... the good ones only get better with a bit of age... and you, Goff, are no exception... kinda of worrying considering you're probably about 10 years older than myself... O.o (its safe to assumed your about 26, yes?... cant be much older :S)
  13. as are teeth... good on you for giving the twat a mouthfull, Goff!, its about time someone gave these chavs a good bollocking. luckily, ive modded my DT50 to carry a quick-release 5" adjustable spanner for roadside repairs or even wing mirror removal (its amazing how some of these idiots manage to get on the road legally...)
  14. as far as running gear is concerned, its running a Bigone exhaust and expansion chamber, a 12t front sprocket and a 46t rear sprocket cosmetically, its got an aftermarket nosecone/headlight for better night driving, aftermarket indicators, custom grips and renthal handlebars i cant unbolt the airbox and remove it because the battery slots into the opposite side of the airbox, so if i remove the airbox i have nowere to put the battery. the cone filter will fit straight onto the carb easily, its just a matter of getting the clearence between the carb opening and the airbox. i may end up cutting out the front of the airbox to fit the filter and leaving the rest in to hold the battery
  15. have you tried cleaning the carb out? (check to see if the jet is blocked aswell), only other thing i can think of is advanced timing but with a CDI i wouldn't think its possible
  16. hi everyone my chrome air filter arrived today but i cant get enough clearance to fit it between the carb and the original airbox, is there any way i can remove the filter part of the airbox but leave the rest intact so i still have somewere to mount the battery to? i think i may end up having to dremel the front of the airbox, but is there a way to remove it intact?
  17. ive got a big bike lock from argos (£10 special offer) that is the right size to be wrapped around my grabrail for easy transportation and looks like it will be hard to cut through
  18. hi everyone. ive got a steering lock on ym Yamaha DT50 MX (1990) but dont have a key for it, how do i get it off as it looks like its made as part of the frame. timpsons quoted me £187 to get it taken out, and reprofiled for a new key so it would be cheaper to get a whole new steering lock methink
  19. Cor' blimey... make the most of the "spethul" punishment, lads, as its something you will have to pay alot of money for later on in life... ... think i need to go lay down now
  20. hi there. i think the best thing to do would be to contact the DVLA directly and ask them about it, they should be able to tell you all you need to know and how to go about getting it back on the road . if its stolen and recovered i think you can only get 3rd party fire and theft insurance, not comprehensive. not 100% sure so maybe someone else can confirm that
  21. im keeping out of that, its mopeds i feel worse for, they are always being overtaken and it must be scary when something large and heavy passes within a foot of you. still, theres no justice like yellow dragon justice wait 'till my blue dragon is roadworthy... that'll make for some serious sport
  22. well i changed my front sprocket today and discovered the screw that holds the wire onto the switch housing had become loose, i tightened it up and used a little bit of loctite and low and behold i now have a neutral light . as for the turn signals no such luck, anyone know how to get the dials off to check the bulb hasnt gone pop?
  23. hi everyone, i started my bike up just now to check the charge going to the battery (which is probably a dud) and everything operates as it should, high/low beam, indicators e.t.c but my neutral and turn signal light on the clock dont seem to work. ive tried operating the signals and revving the engine to get a bit more current going to the lights but not even that works the indicators themselves work fine, so what could be causing the lights to not work? (despite the fact they were working a few days ago)
  24. are the engine and gearbox in good condition?, if so how much you looking for and where abouts are you in the country?
  25. a six speed would be nice but if it involves an engine change i dont think its worth the effort. i would rather take a 5 speed box off another DT50MX (similar year) and replace my 4 speed (still using the same 50cc engine) will have to have a look around the breakers and see what i can find...
