  1. Yamaha DT400 (i just like DTs', lol) Honda Blackbird 1100XX - sports-tourer, to go around europe on, lol. Suzuki GSXR-1300 - SPEEEEEEEED and a nice big Dragstar for all the chrome and laid-back riding
  2. yeh, i thought it looked better on the left, so i flipped the image... ... OG thought my L plate was on upside down just been down to probike and the RS100 sprockets are 80mm and my DT ones are 60mm (hub size) so its not going to work may just get a suzuki TS or something a bit faster
  3. okay, well im also having a malossi 70cc kit on it, new reeds and a few other bits and pieces to get it running nicely even in its current state it will pull top gear up a hill nicely, but it will sit at 40 revving its balls off and i want to birng hte revs down a bit and get some more speed out of it.
  4. up as far as it will go on the front, still only getting 40 on the flats, dont want to put a big bore on it for more speed because then it will just rev its nuts off and self-destruct
  5. hi everyone am looking to gear my DT50 up a bit more, but i am running the smallest possible sprocket on the back and i still want to go smaller, i remember another member saying they had a Yam RS100 sprocket on their DT, would i need a specific year to fit the sprocket onto my original hub? and is it even possible?
  6. its the feeling of having all that power between your legs. you dont get the same experiance when you are inside a car, being on a bike leaves you free to look around you without obstruction (within reason), plus i love having the freedom to be small and nimble in the traffic, and to attract the ladies, nothing like sitting on the bike with your helmet under your arm wearing a leather jacket quite a few inuendos in this post... coincidence?, or is it just 'cus bikes are sexy?
  7. winter should be fine, colder air is more dense so contains more oxygen for more combustion... check the airfilter isnt too clogged up and is still allowing the passage of air to the carb/intake. other than that, give your carb a good clean as any foreign object in the carb will restrict airflow. few other things that spring to mind are carb float height causing the engine to flood when idling, incorrect jet settings or possibly a malfunction with the choke, check to see if it is actually disengaging at the carb when you press the lever
  8. checked valve clearances and that sort of thing? gotta be fueling... are you getting a good spark?
  9. possibly its not moving off the idle jet onto the main jet, have you checked to make sure the jet is actually clear and not blocked? try changing the fuel also, i remember my dads' generator wouldnt go after about a years storage and it turned out to be sh*tty fuel
  10. Lol, good one mate, showed that to a few people in ym technology class whilst the teacher was out. once again, LOL
  11. lol, yep. passed a signpost shortly before it died saying "Hungerford 5 miles" with "Newbury 10 miles" pointing in the other direction
  12. i thought i was on main ... was a very long walk, took me over two hours non stop
  13. i thought i was on main ... was a very long walk, took me over two hours non stop
  14. lesson learned the hard way... also learned which is reserve on the fuel tap the hard way... pushing a motorbike 5 miles to the nearest petrol station in the pitch black on the back roads is a very scary thing
  15. went to the shed and put a 12v 21/5w bulb in it and away it went... will go into town during the week and get a 6v bulb turns out the 5w filament was cream crackered on the original 6v 21/5w bulb despite the fact the filament looked alright i didnt like the look of the original electrical tape that was caked in crap so to be neat i stripped as much of it off as i could and replaced it with fresh tape, now looking a bit better problem solved P.S. i did a continuity test and wasnt getting a reading across the yellow wire that runs my running lights as when i unplugged it the brake light still worked, but when i unplugged the blue one nothing worked
  16. took the tank off and stripped back as much of the shitty electrical tape as i could, can't find any evidence of a solder joint, methink a previous owner has re-done the wiring as there is a bullet connecter on the yellow wire but other than that i got the yellow wire coming out of the bottom of the HT coil going to the brake light, and two black ones which then bundle into the rest of the loom... this bike is starting to piss me off ever so slightly...
  17. have found some battery operated heated gloves on ebay, and i think maplins have them on their website aswell... only bad thing is the dont have protected knuckles or fingers... so perhaps not he safest option... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HEATED-GLOVES-BATTER...A1%7C240%3A1318

HAHAHAAAA!!!, good one Goff... i remember someone saying something similar to me about a baby mouse and a cornsnake... keep em coming
  20. would do if i could find 'em!, they arent on their website but my basingstoke store is only about 17 miles away, will drop in after school and see if they have them
  21. Yeh i have checked with a multimeter and im getting voltage thorugh the blue wire for my brake light but only about 0.3 for the running light the contact is fine, have checked that when removing/replacing the bulb its too late to fart about with looms now, when i get back from school tomorrow i may get round to it if i can be arsed
  22. thanks mate, will pull the tank off tonight and have a look-see. the whole loom from the connection under the seat to the front is covered in insulation though, how will i know where the solder joint is?
  23. Bulb is fine, and its the blue light which is the running light, the yellow wire is for the brakes and that works fine. with the headlight on it puts out about 0.3 volts, so obviously somewere in the loom there is either break or high resistance that is stopping the juice getting to the back light :S even on the plug straight out of the switchgear i am not getting anything above 0.3V volts, and the switchgear was brand new and working when i put it on there a week or so ago so its not that. any more ideas? this one has me stumped O.o, i havent changed any of the wiring so im not sure why it would suddenly not work. is there a regulator or something in the circuit that may be faulty? and whilst im here, anyone know where i can find a wiring diagram for the complete bike and/or brake lamp circuit
  24. who says a small woman is a bad thing? , like you said you dont get big diamonds... im sure Mr Goff is content with you the way you are
