  1. no mike not a wimp they will turn out to be a great buy,a couple of my mates have them and swear by them as they heat your fingers and the back of your hands unlike heated grips. i can understand you getting them at your age.
  2. yes mate traded in the tt600 was sad to see it go but needs must, great deal got a lifetime warranty with it and a free service so well pleased

i have just recieved my insurance quote for 2012 WTF it has gone up by 40% considering i have been riding 48yrs never claimed and have had no convictions since 1993 not only has it gone up but they have put a £700 excess on it when i phoned them they said it was because of the amount of fraudulent claims. so rang round for other quotes bennetts would not cover me because my bikes been modified from standard funny they had no problem insuring it 18 months ago. but all was not lost using motorcycle news they sent me multiple quotes and where carole nash wanted £770 + 700 excess for fully comp on my tt600 and newly aquirred daytona 675 in febuary if i can agree the deal, the best quote was £246 +150 excess multi bike policy even including my fz600 the only bad part of using MCN was every man and his dog rings you trying to get your business thank god for answer phones
  10. perhaps thats why if you had used the whole of my Quote you would have seen i said about him being almost 19 it just looked odd 18 yrs old 3 yrs ncb it might say 1993 so his birthday could be next week but it also be anytime in 2012, is the clue in your new user name airhead

    going green.

just read your post kev yea its funny that all the things our generation did caused global warming and yet a lot of the things they tell us to do to make things better we did in the old days? when scientists come out with all this bollox about global warming i think back to 1963 the year of the big freeze 12 weeks of freezing weather and the then scientists telling us we were entering the second ice age and the weather was going to get colder every year and in twenty to thirty years we would enter the second ice age and now its global warming, was i pissed for 30 years is that how i missed the ice age.
  12. WHAT? is it me or is there something not right here first you say you are 18yrs old but then you say you have nearly 3yrs no claims if so have you been on a 50cc at 16 and are almost 19 which might account for almost 3yrs no claims.? 600cc and economic well there are bikes out there that are better than others and being 18 insurance is the bigger killer, have you a full licence or are you restricted to 33bhp if so there are plenty of other bikes out there like the 250 ninja with good mpg but your never going to get a 600cc with great mpg unless you ride like a nun
  13. hello was that an echo...........didnt oldgitinabike just say that its nice of you to give us the benifit of your opinion but it would have been better if you had posted in the new members section introducing yourself so we know who the fuck you are
  14. when you say new lee do you mean new to you or brand new if it is new take it back to the dealer if its still in warranty ,if not it sounds like you need to adjust your clutch or sorry to say this but it could be due to inexperience.
  15. newark showground, nottingham just read in MCN that it was a big success guy martin said he loved it unlike modern bike shows where all you get are rows of mass produced bikes these bikes are unique, got to say drewps having now seen yours in the flesh its the dogs ballox, hmmm maybe an fz600 powered one must do something the poor thing is just sat outside
  16. great news she does as kev said look a real cutie my first granddaughter is due in febuary like you its been boys all the way in my family will be a nice change. as for all the other comments about our kids riding none have mine have shown the slightest intrest so i have not had that the dilema on what to do unlike my dad who dispite being a biker forbid me to get a bike while living under his roof they are to bloody dangerous so at 16 left home and got my first of many bikes 49yrs later i am still riding, if they where safe maybe i would have got bored and stopped. i learned a long time ago if you tell your kids not to do something they will go ahead an do it , as neversaydie said encourage them its the best way to make sure they do the opposite.
  17. was a good run took a photo of kev but you cant see his wife shes some where behind kev, sadly my laptop knackered keeps crashing will try and send drewpy photo to put up. if this link doesnt work
  18. jesus john there was only 2 billion when i started riding now i do feel old and if the life expectancy figures are to believed i hope we have some better summers in the next 12yrs
  19. +1 on that i am surprised they work at all most 125s systems not really up to running heated grips HG manchester would not sell me any when i had my little dragstar as they were fed up with people coming back complaining there battery was flat or grips cut off which as OG says they are designed to do
  20. very nice good job you did
  21. as there is nothing no lights or anything checkout ignition ie any power to it ,loose wires, loose main fuse, earths dodgy wiring it doesnt matter that its not starting or turning over you should at least get something thats working if ignition is getting power to it at least the horn lights or something should work. just one more thing your cut off switch it is on and working ?
  22. yes its a helmet but they are available as well saw them at the earls court motorbike show a few years ago also a helmet with a built in rear view mirror so you could see what was behind you by just looking up above the visor, the problem is most riders know dispite riding along with headlights on and reflective jacket the bastards still cant see us.even next week when kevs dressed up as santa some twat still wont see him and yes i am going no santa suit so will strap the crimbo tree to my back lights pluged in to cigar lighter so no excuse for not being seen
  23. i am still laughing paul these things have been available for some time. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/led-safety-jacket-vest/
