  1. Do the test, youll get bored of a 125 2t quickly as well. Most people will always want more, agreed though a 600 sports bike is more than enough for the road!
  2. If you change your chain you should change your sprockets at the same time otherwise the chain wont last 5 minutes. That may sort the noise? Is the chain lubed up properly? You say a couple months old on the sprocket, how many miles is that?
  3. Bad times for all companes at the moment but to be honest i used to rarely buy stuff from HG as the nearest store was quite far away and stuff tends to be a bit cheaper online. I do prefer to buy in stores though as you get it there and then; and you can try it on but the practicality of the internet is clearly taking over.

    free muc-off

I bought 10 litres of the stuff from m&p the other day for £20, i knows theres cheaper stuff out there that works but im a sucker for a deal.
  5. R6; 0 - 60 about 3.5 seconds? Fastest iv been 155 on a track
  6. What gearing are you both on? Any mods?
  7. Id say about 60 as standard?
  8. Id still go for the r1, why have the bike that everyone has?
  9. Helmet, Leather jacket and gloves, boots and draggin jeans, no matter where i go. Takes less than 2 minutes to get knocked off your bike.
  10. R1 all day, whats the price differences between the 3?
  11. That okay, iv learnt a bit about your bike as well lol
  12. What a stupid design? Whats the need for a spring on a manual tensioner? So in a way its 'semi auto' as it adjusts the slack itself but you have to let it do it?
  13. If its the one that YPVS Tone has posted up then id say its an auto one and just to leave it alone.
  14. I know the r6 uses an auto tensioner but what kevin described sounded like a manual one to which again is a common thing on r6s/r1s etc as the auto ones are pretty crap and are prone to 'backing off' under heavy loads. Does it look like either of these two? or 1st is a manual and 2nd the auto.
  15. Yeah the cam cover/rocker cover etc (i just re read it and couldnt understand why i said head ), if its a manual tensioner youre supposed remove it and measure the slack between the cam sprockets otherwise you cant get the tension accurate, its a common thing on the r6 as well. Like i said earlier you can adjust it and guess it by ear but id always do it properly for peace of mind.
  16. You will need to take the head off to adjust it properly so whilst youre there you may as well check the valves as well. Some people do it by ear but you will risk wearing out the chain guides prematurely if done too tight. Once adjusted though it should be good for another 5000 - 10.000 miles.
  17. Welcome back, thought it had been calm recently

    The damn rain

Its not the rain, its the spray from the cars thats a nightmare!
  21. When i had mine honed and bored i just took the cylinder to an engineering firm along with the new piston, they asked how much clearance is recomended which pjme said about 2 thou iirc and they done a brilliant job of it. Was only the first re bore and it was miles away from the pv. I would have thought Yamaha would have stated a max overbore before you would start having problems with hitting the pv? Sounds a bit mad to me. @Andy, cant you supply your own piston at the engineering place you go to?

    The damn rain

2 weeks ago i had to ride 300+ miles from Cornwall to Essex on my bike, it rained for about 5 of the 6 and a half hour journey and then it got dark with about half hour left to go and me being a bit of a div had a tinted visor on as well... Iv never been so grateful to get home, I was shitting myself for the majority of the journey lol. I also dont think iv ever been so wet before! Ever!

Id absolutely love to own something like these two bikes, amazing! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-RD-350-YPVS-Cagiva-Mito-Special-Ohlins-/120899292669?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item1c2628cdfd and http://racebikemart.com/adverts/DUCATI_996_RS___1310561323.php My brother used to have a mito that looked exactly the same as that Ducati down to the last sticker.
