well back in 91' i bought a brand new XT125 (a more old skool design tan the XT125R !) and got some more ponies by removing the plate that fits between the carb and the engine, the plate has a hole in it but it can be enlarged to free the horses....... but i don't know if the newer bikes are the same design?

try a socket on the end of the bolt that secures the generator, this should turn it over but i suspect the rings are seized to the bores and you would be better off removing the top end and doing and inspection and renewing the rings and possibly the valve stem seals too. good luck, wick

Hi it more than likely worn 'emulsion tubes' as they fail on TRX's and TDM's alot.
-
prolly caused by worn needles and emulsion tubes (a common problem with TRX's, TDM's and XTZ's.) try www.carpe-tdm.net fer info and pics on how to replace these items. WiCkY

how ya, i had a new XT125 back in 1991 that was restricted so i removed the carb (but left it hanging by the throttle cable) and then removed the metal plate that fits atween the carb and the enjun, twas where the restriction was ya see, all i did was enlarge the hole in this metal plate and hey presto i had full power.

hello i have 2 TDM 850's. one is 99 and the udder a 2000 model ! the 99er is up fer sale as my wife don't want it !!

Hi the XTZ is a good bike but they can burn/use alot of oil, strip their output shaft and loose the front sprocket, and the frames can crack in extreme cases. the bike you need is a TDM 900 as they are excellent and cheap to buy (in the uk anyway)and are great on the road and good enough on a dirt track.
