Hello everybody I'm Alistair. I have just bought a TZR125 doer upper. This is my first foray into the world of the 2 stroke since I was 16 (41 years ago) so I'm quite looking forward to it. I have lost count of the number of bikes I have restored over the years so it's going ti be interesting learning something new. I have no doubt tha I will be calling on the membership here for help and advice. Let the good times roll! Regards, Alistair.

Hi all! New member hailing from South Africa. Bought an old 1978 Yamaha RS195 (the RS200 was sold under this model in S.A). I have been converting it into a café racer slowly but surely. Cosmetically it's at 90%, but the engine needs some work. There is a problem with the starting, one pipe smokes excessively, then dies; I believe the crank seals need to be replaced so I had some delivered from Wemoto. Unfortunately installing a classic slimline café seat arrangement is a bit of a pain since the oil tank protrudes under the seat cavity. As a result the original seat was kept, and it actually looks quite neat IMO. Interested in what everyone thinks!

Just wanted to say HI. I have always been a Yamaha owner mainly 4 wheelers and 3 wheelers. I have recently received 2, 1984 Yamaha DT 125 LC. So far have been fun projects, new cables all around thanks to Wemoto. New carb kits from australia and now I am have the fun of tuning and working out all the gremlins that keep creeping up. Can't wait to dive into the discussions and stat asking questions. Thanks for the forum. Adam Mitts

morning all, This weekend i purchased an 1987 FZR750r genesis, it's in need of some tlc, so my list of questions i will be asking is long The body work is in excellent condition, do 1000 genesis panels fit? also the brakes are a weak point, i've heard that the blue spot calipers from an r6/r1 will fit? i'm assuming that the early 98/99 capliers ar the ones? Please forgive me for improper ettiquette, but the bike has got me buzzibg, i always wanted one when 17 years old now 30 years on i've got one

Hi All, First off a very Merry Christmas to you all. After not riding for over twenty years this will be my first time back out on two wheels once I get the old girl back up and running. I recently acquired an '88 XV400 Virago and I am in the process of getting her back on the road. having a little high idle and back fire issue when on the throttle but other than that she looks like a clean well cared for bike for the age. if any of you could point me to the best places to get technical advice and where to buy spare parts that would be awesome. One question I do want to know, and if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated is this. What other fuel…

To be honest I signed up on this forum some time ago but only just got round to an introduction. Bit of a Yamaha fanatic, currently got an 05 R1, 16 MT-09 and picking up a 14 XVS950A Midnight Star on the weekend, had one before the MT and really missed it so just got a very low mileage one. Have several other bikes an 80 Honda CB250NA Superdream, 82 Honda CB750KZ, 84 Honda CB750FD, 75 Suzuki GT550L and 83 Suzuki GS750S1 Katana.

Hi, New Member Clive joining as I have just got my 2005 Drag Star 125 to get my licence. Should have done that in 1970;- once round the block and you've passed but I was happy with my Honda cb250ss on L plates so didn't feel the need. I've not ridden a bike on british roads for 40 years. I am appauled at the dreadful state of the roads which I now recognise as being on the whole the same surfaces as I rode back then cut to shreads mainly by the laying in of network services. Rant over, apart from the unexpected hazards lurking on every bend, biking today is safer and generally better disciplined, I look forward to many years of riding and meeting with some of y…

Hi all, I've been a lurker for a while so thought I should say hello, I'm currently in my purgatory year on a 125 before being able to ride something larger. The new 125's left me a little cold so after a bit of research I settled on a DT125MX and found one that needed a few little things finishing off. Plan was always to get shot of it but have decided to keep it, silencer hanger bolt thought 50mph was a good speed to fail and sent the silencer skipping down the road at the weekend but I guess that comes with the territory! Thanks, Ben

Mike here, from Tucson Arizona. Life-long biker type, both on and off road. Harleys mostly, but a few years ago I had a very serious accident and am now limited to riding something smaller and lighter. When you fall of the horse, you get right back on... especially if you get knocked off. I found this forum researching an issue I'm having with a 2009 V-Star 650 I purchased bout a month ago. As you can see, the bike is highly modified, and it runs like a raped ape. The issue I'm having is that after riding just a few miles, the bike just dies. But as soon as I roll to a stop, I hit the starter button and it's running just fine again. It also seems to only happen…

Hi all. Did my CBT a couple of weeks ago. (yes in mid January) after deciding that it would be easier to commute across the city on two wheels and will be easy to park at work. And managed to get myself a rather nice YBR, with 1500 miles on it, from a fella in Newport. After an interesting ride home through the back lanes then onto the link road I managed to get home alive. As a new owner I have a million questions and will be putting the search button to good use. I hope to spin the spanners and have some fun with a bike now that I dont have anywhere to keep and fiddle with my previous motorised loves Mercedes 190e's (still heavily involved …
