Hi everyone Dusted the cobwebs off my 893 Fireblade yesterday for the first time in months, started it up and noticed the cooling fan wasnt kicking in and the temperature gauge would go right into the red, i have checked the fuse and that is fine but is there anything else likely to be causing this? next logical step would be to manually short out the thermostat and see if the fan will run, then maybe change the thermostat assuming all is ok with the fan any other ideas? its a bit different to the trusty thrusty DT... most things on that could be fixed with bodge tap and bootlaces...

Salutary tale for FZ6S2 owners- my bike failed to start on its third birthday while it was in the garage having the radiator fan checked, The mechanic was attempting to use the engineers codes to get the radaitor fan to run but the bike wouldnt even start let alone let him into the back door. He unplugged the ECU from the loom and found that at least four of the ECU pins stayed in the loom plug and there was obvious signs of corrosion inside the plug. Dont know if you are familiar with the ECU position- I wasnt - Under the tank behind the air box but exposed to a hole to the back mudguard area where the top end of the rear suspension unit is- should be fair…

So having yet again gotten lost on the 2 stroke rideout I have been doing some research. I have been using a TomTom ONE v3 and this device invariably sends me down dual carriageways which is NOT good on the ageing DT175! However i 'think' the v2 has what's called itinerary planning whereby the user can specify exactly the route to take which is a big plus on specified rideout routes...it also has bluetooth so can be used with in ear speakers? am I right? can anyone shed any light on this?

Did it today with 3 great cops from PSNI, down at H.G. Newry. Time very well spent on a freebie that money couldn't buy. They gave me a really good run despite the 'R' plates, (restricted to 45mph........lose 'em on the 6th Sept,Ye - ha!). I'd recommend Bikesafe to anyone that's not yet done it. Thank's to the Police service for this opportunity to gain an experience with such professional riders.

Just finished taking a safety course offered by Pacific Northwest Motorcycle Safety Inc here in Washington state. I took the beginners course as the only thing I've ridden other than a bicycle was a moped some 25 years ago in high school. I did so well that not only did I get the highest score in the class which had a couple long time riders, but I got offered a job as an instructor. Since I'm self employed and don’t make enough to help out with the household bills I’m seriously considering it. And it’s loads of fun. Marcus

Hi guys and girls, I have a clothing related question regarding the length of textile trousers. I have recently purchased a pair of Weise Titan sport 30' (short), but I found that the knee pads became shin protectors. I sent them back, and bought a pair of Weise S-Type 30' (regular) and they are pretty much the same. My question is this, does anyone know of smaller made trousers (similar style) or knee protectors that can be relocated? Or the second question is this, both those Weise trousers have zips to get access to the knee pads...and the knee pockets are much deeper than the need to be....would adjusting the knee protectors by adding on foam to the bottom to ma…

At first sight they may look like some pretty sharp blue photographs, however all those pictures are actually hand drawn with a simple Bic ballpoint pen! http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1vmi11/www.demilked.com/photorealistic-bic-pen-drawings-juan-francisco-casas

So about to buy some new bars... Then I notice that the wazzock that put racing bars on my SR125 must have also shortened the brake line and possibly the throttle cable... So as I am customizing the rest of the bike, IF I got bigger bars (i.e. Bigger than standards), how awkward would it be to sort out a longer brake line, throttle cable, electrics, etc? I mean obviously it should be child's play, but im thinking the electrics would be more awkward. Anything I should pay close attention to? Also the wire from the clutch lever has corroded to s*** and pretty much broke - are we talking new clutch mount for the bars altogether or can I fix?
