  1. Hi peeps having hell of a job finding some insurance quotes, looking to buy a Dodge ram B250, its a van body but listed on the V5 as a motor camper, have tried go compare and all that pish but they dont list a ram and wont recognize the number plate (its a us import btw), so where is the best place to find insurance for this vehicle?
  2. moving this to the workshop section, may get more bites there
  3. knew i should have bought a metal detector instead of a fireblade... could have my own fleet of spitfires by now

    general?

nah, was more the fact they posted me to the middle of a f*ckin mosquito infested forest for two months to scan bags and pat-down fat sweaty people at the olympic park, a tour of afghanistan would have been much more preferable

Morale of any sort will NOT be tollerated! Those who attempt to brighten the days of others will be dealt with severely... Me foamy, me beat chest and growl
  6. Stako make 7 litre lpg tanks designed to fit inside topboxes, then all you would need is a small reducer, another standalone ECU and injector(s), i read somewhere that all scooters in shanghai are LPG as they wont allow petrol ones on the roads? (wether there is truth in that i do not know), it wouldnt be all that difficult to make one run on lpg i dont think, may be something i should consider, would be great for nipping around the base

You will bow down to me!...
  8. okay, so you've removed the battery as a possibility in the equation... that really only leaves the starter motor, if you leave your bike cranking over for 5 minutes then it is likely to cook your starter motor and drain your battery, anything more than 5-10 seconds on the starter should be plenty to start a week two-stroke, if it isnt starting on the peds battery but is starting if jumped from a car it could likely be that the starter is drawing too much current for the ped battery and not leaving enough power to spark to crank over, had this problem with my XJ600 once when it had a dodgey battery on it, used to bump-start it everywhere until i got a new battery but seeing as yours is variator driven you wont be able to do this, make sure your battery is fully charged and put a voltmeter across the terminals before hitting the start button, within the first few seconds note the voltages, anything much below 9-10 suggests too high a current draw for the battery (knackered starter or shorting solenoid), not so much a problem on 12v batteries but that sort of problem on a 28v aircraft battery has enough energy to weld... keep that in mind when playing with wires
  9. this thread is like, a year old dude, that aerox is probably on the scrapheap by now, besides the Jogs were always better peds imho
  10. its probably pressed in, or you may need to have the key in the barrell to actually withdraw the pins and allow the barrell to be pushed out, i think on my XJ turbo cap i pressed it out on a bench press, machined a recess in the bottom of the barrel and put a circlip in to hold it permanently
  11. following this with interest, god i miss that sweet-ass XJ of mine... i got a feeling the fireblade wont do 50mpg . may have to buy it back before i leave benson... forgot to add, looks like your bike also has the Motad exhaust system, they are prone to rotting out in the collector box, kind of a crap design really, the downpipes are stainless steel but the collector box and tail section are mild steel and as i said they tend to rust away due to the moisture collecting at the lowest point in the pipe, good luck finding an original exhaust system though, you will probably find rocking horse sh*t with hens teeth in it easier than you will find a complete system for sensible money, same can be said for the pannier rack!

should put my 2nd ex on there... bitch took off with my CD collection and my A7X hoodie, f'kin loved that hoodie... and my CDs
  13. incredible well done tbh... sounds like the kind of thing i would do
  14. from what i remember, my DT50 had a stock main jet of 98, with the big bore kit on and a bigone exhaust and expansion pipe i jetted it to about 110 and moved the needle up one position. check the colour of your spark plugs, this should be a rough indication of mixture, struggling to start could be an indication of lean running
  15. Yeah, That's my name on the back, you can either have the shirt with nothing on the back or for a little bit extra you can have text on the back (in this case, its my name and a funny little slogan). PM me with what you want and i can get it all arranged for you and give you a final price
  16. A burning yamaha building could work... This is food for thought Shirts will be on the way shortly, just sorting it all out with Alex
  17. Get hubby involved? maybe you guys could do a "Hunky fireman carrying a strikingly beautifull damsel from a 'burning' cardboard building" scenario... like this: By Foamy, age 19 and a half :3
  18. well who knows, maybe we could do a page together, you with your heart stopping good looks and me with my... erm, personality i suppose...
  19. wasn't thinking of the bikes... tbh... :/
  20. I heard he was taking viagra to stop himself rolling out of bed...
  21. seriously peeps... YOC calender shoot?...
  22. carbonised plugs = rich mixture, if you are in doubt about your ignition timing it may be best to refer to your haynes for correct timing
  23. Yes, I remember this job well... Every year my trusty old rattler would need new fork seals... From what I recall they didn't need a special tool as such, strip the front end down and remove the forks from the triple trees, then remove the bolt from the bottom of the stanchions with an Allen key, can't remember what size but it was probably 6 or 8 mm, the old seals are held under a circling, a good set of pliers is all that's required to remove these, with the caliper removed a sharp upward pull should seperate the legs from the stanchion, reinstallation is the same in reverse, i used 10w oil although 15w would be better as it request front end dive under braking, from memory I think it's about 400ml although without a Haynes manual it is only a guess
  24. This has given me an idea... How about a YOC calendar shoot?... although due to the lack of females it would most likely be 12 pages of Sacha... Not that I'm complaining I'm en route back to hometree now peeps, you will be pleased to know that I have exiled the demons from my laptop and foamynet is operational once again , will update this thread later after I have adjusted the designs
