Cupping on front tyre - what to do?

As some will know I recently bought an XJ6 (loving it). I have noticed a few times, especially going around roundabouts the the front wheel seems to slip just a fraction then bites again. It's a little disconcerting! Tyre pressure is as per manual. I checked tyre and I can feel a flat spot in one area of front wheel just off centre. I did some research and it seems to be called cupping. Cause could be previous owners riding habits / my riding habits / alignment. I'm pretty sure it's not alignment. Any advice on how to best handle this? Should I replace the tyres? (They have loads of tread left - look almost new actually). Is there any option to re grade the surface? Do I just live with it? I'm a pretty new rider for those that don't know and just looking for an experienced finger to point a general direction. Thanks.

I'd say live with it/slow down/change the tyre. Lots of motorway riding will cause cupping even if lots of tread left. What tyres have you got? They might be more prone than others or be generally crap.

If it was my bike and putting me off riding/knocking confidence then I'd change for peace of mind.

It feels like its slipping but its just rolling faster on that part of the tyre.

You may feel the same sensation from the rear as it squares off.

Personally i would change the tyres. I always change tyres early. Personal choice but you have to have faith in them or you just wont enjoy your bike.

I'm with the others on this. Lack of confidence in the tyres will ruin your riding day! Change them, take the financial hit and get out and enjoy the bike :)
