    framed!

lol they do take forever. But at least you know its on its way. I never got mine for the XVS - it was only when i noticed the tax had ran out the other week that i wondered where my reminder was cos i normally tax my vehicles off that. Called the DVLA - turns out one had never been issued! Never even thoguht about it though! I would check the log book when you get it. Like i said it might not be an XS frame - it could be something completely different or have been modified. As long as it matches onthe log book - I wouldnt worry too much about it honey - unless it HAS to be an XS1100 through and through?

  3. lol i had this problem when i had my Aprilia which had never been registered - only used for the track. In the end i Q plated it as trying to get a dating certificate from Aprilia Italy was a nightmare! You will have to get the certificate from the manufacturer, which obviously would be Yamaha - ring your local dealer and ask them - it might be easier just to Q plate it though cos its a right headache!
  4. I have NO idea - but try giving your local Yamaha dealer a call - they should know honey

What does the log book say? Could be that the frame isnt an XS frame, but the engine and other bits are. If you're still not sure ring the DVLA and ask them

    Hello everyone

Use the oil recommended by the dealer. You could end up causing yourself a load of problems by using car oil - it isnt designed for bikes. Drain out the old stuff first and top it up with new - then you kno wyourself that it is right. If you dont know how long the old oil has been in there and you top it up with new - you're asking for trouble. Welcome to the forum btw
  12. The V Star is EXACTLY the same as the Dragstar. V Star is the name given to the American/Canadian versions, while Dragstar is the European version. I have a 650 V Star imported from the US, and the only thing i have found that is different is that the exhaust gaskets are slightly smaller for my V Star than the Dragstar.....oh and the Bhp is a little less Just make sure you dont buy Custom parts in stead of Classic parts - cos they won't fit. HTH

    wind!

Other than getting right down behind the screen in windy conditions i don't think theres an awful lot you can do, but whilst wracking me brains and browsing the net I found this for you though - might be useful? FJR Screen Mod And welcome to the forum btw
  18. Try a bit of WD40 too - i used it to take off the sticky mess (oooooerrrr!) left by the foam seal around the clocks when the tank went for a respray - worked a treat!
  19. I witnessed the tension first hand walking through Salford from uni yesterday. I felt more intimidated and on my guard because of all the rowdy fans, walking through traffic and banging on car bonnets - some which had children in - than i ever have at a biker event. An open letter to all who care about riding their bike I go to rallies to have fun. I do not want to become a sitting duck by attending one of the bigger rallies while this "feud" is sorted out. One thing i have learned in my years of biking is that you seriously do not fuck with these people. But due to recent events, i know i would not take my children - not until its all sorted out and things have died down. It does look that way. And if you come up with something that aint gonna make us look worse than we already do then please - share it. To be honest, i think this time next year it may have all died down. BUT...... Here's a lit of cancelled rallies this year so far: Welsh Motorcycle Show 23 - 26 May (Cancelled) past it mcc 13th birthday party 31st May 2008 (Cancelled) Stourbridge MCC’s Midsummer Bash 21st June (Cancelled) Rock and blues 24th - 27th July 2008 (Cancelled) http://www.rockandblues.uk.com/ Stourbridge MCC’s Woizel Rally 8th 9th 10th August (Cancelled) Past It MCC's 10th Zimmer Frame Rally 22nd - 24th Augist 2008 (Cancelled) Patriot Games Rock Festival 22nd - 24th August 2008 (Cancelled) http://www.patriotsmc.co.uk/Patriot%20Games%202008.htm Great Yorkshire Bike Show http://www.thegreatyorkshirebikeshow.co.uk/ Welsh National - cancelled
  20. Nice one. If you DO decide to get a restrictor kit fitted, then my mate Alan at Cadishead Motorcycles does restrictor kits fitted for £200 inc labour - i noticed you're in Manchester........ Cheapest around and a top bloke too. Also does MOT's on a sunday too. Cadishead Motorcycles tell him Goth sent you......... Just don't ride like a tw@t or get caught - will end up costing you more than 200 quid, and if you're not restricted - you aint insured........
  21. I buy a lot of my stuff from Ebay in the US - you just have to ask them to mark it as a gift. I have bought some crackin stuff for my 650 in the past. This place is quite good too - and not too badly priced: Offshore Motorcycle Parts
  22. I am about to invest in a new set of Vance and Hines pipes for the Dragstar. Ive narrowed it down to the 2 (the only 2 lol) which are the Short Shots and the Cruzers. Has anyone got any of these on their bike? Or do you know if one is better than the other? I know that V & H pipes arent road legal in the UK, and i was also told that if the Cruszers are too loud you can't quieten them down, but you can with the short shots. Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.
  23. If doing what grisler suggested don't work then It COULD be on the wrong way round INSIDE the switchgear. Take it off and have a look at how is been put on in there - it could be on back to front - have done it meself and ended up with me bike revving like mad.
  24. Yeah send us a piccy or post one on here honey so i can have a look - might not be that but best starting in what might be the most obvious place Incidentally - is it revving its tits off when full lock is on in either direction? Or just one direction?
