  1. ok thanks for that, as i only use my dt on the road for commuting i may go along that route and see if i can get hold of one and fit it if the fiiting are all the same
  2. i have an 02 dt125r and a work friend of mine has an 07 dt125sm, i was wondering if his rear shock and mine are both the same as his feels a lot firmer when you push the seat up and down, we have looked underneath and the preload/adjustment nuts are virtually in the same position but there is definately a difference as his feels firmer and mine feels as though it has a more smoother through action. both the rear shock springs are red
  3. runs and ticks over lovely on the 260 jet that i put in, got tiniest of flat spot on pulling away from standstill but i put that down to changing the gearing from 15/47(i think thats standard) to 16/44 and me not giving it a big handfull of revs as well, plug has a lovely colour to it as well when i took it out to look. just thought it might need some sort of adjustment seeing as the tailpipe looks pretty well straight through now and not like the "tin of spaghetti" that the exhaust fumes must find there way through to exit the standard one
  4. hi all, i have an 02 dt1215r that i have recently re-jetted, the carb from standard had a jet size of 240 and upped it to a 260 because i changed the exhaust tailpipe to an athena one, so was wondering if i should(if its even possible) adjust the oil pump to give a bit more oil/fuel mix. bike doesn't get thrashed or even given a hard time probably 6500rpm max so that it clears its throat, bike is only used for pottering round on sunny days like we are having at the moment
  5. looks good, keep up the good work
  6. the footpeg rubbers slip over the top of the footpegs and are held in place with a 6mm bolt/screw inserted through the fixing plate that is fixed in the centre of the footpeg
  7. ok will do, thanks for the help
  8. yep, me as well but rather pointless giving info to non-polite people as we all know politeness is free of charge and gets you so much further in life
  9. evening all, just after a little info on the footpegs on a dt125r, i know it may seem a bit anal and over the top but i have found some footpeg rubbers(not the pillion ones) for sale on a website but they are quite expensive so was wondering if all dt125 front footpegs are the same size as the advert states they will fit a DT125re and Dt125dx 04-07 ?, for the record my dt is a 52 plate 125r and the footpeg measures 80mm long and 30mm wide and has a 6mm fixing hole to secure the rubber, thanks
  10. friend of mine had his bike stolen a couple of years ago but now uses one of those plastic coated s/s woven wire cables and a padlock with a very small locking piece, i think it looks good and is probably quite a deterrent but if they want your bike they will take it
  11. Thanks for the replies guys, I read about putting slightly thicker oil in the forks on here as it could possibly stiffen the forks slightly and seeing as my dt is only used for pottering around my local area and not used off-road at all (I'm a mid 50's grandad), thought that thicker oil would be ok but you would need to put less in than the 495ml normally needed but if the same amount should be put in and it won't burst the seals then so be it thats what i shall do
  12. This weekend doing fork seals, dust covers and cleaning all the fork internals(yep know there's not a lot inside them), am going to use 15w oil instead of standard 10w oil, normally the forks take 495ml of oil si due to the new oil being a bit thicker I was thinking that I would put about 450ml, does this sound about right or should I go more or less than 450ml ?
  13. ok thanks a lot will just take top off and leave upside down overnight then
  14. does bolt number 16 at the very bottom of the fork outer actually hold some inside each fork or can it be used removed and used as a drain
  15. always thought those benelli tre-k's were a stunning bike, unfortunately most rumours are that dealers will only take top price for them and when you want to trade in against a different bike they;ll give you nothing or tell you to sell privately then come back with cash and they will see what they can do on "a deal" with you
  16. i know its not directly related to the oil pump but are you sure he didn't just mean he raised the carb needle two notches and why can't you ring the last owner and ask him exactly what he done, even if you don't have the number as it was a birthday present, the person that brought the bike for you must have a contact number for the last owner
  17. ok jet arrived today, all fitted and been for a test run, still pulls well and runs nice and clear after warming up so a good job all round and thanks for the help
  18. ok will leave it alone for time being, out of interest what does W.O.T. mean ?
  19. ok, ordered a 250 main jet for my carb, while the top is off the carb would it be a good idea to lift the needle one notch or leave it as it is as this would make it run to rich ?
  20. ok thanks for that and will put it back on when re-jetted carb
  21. 35 is an air chamber and 13 is not a gasket its an air chamber as well and 13 fits into 9, but my question was are they really necessary as i couldnt really see what they do ?
