And in those colours too i love it!!!
  3. If you need any help with this give me a shout. Has there been any thought to trying to contact someone like auto glym or meguiars about the show??? I know for the modified car shows there is an "auto glym best of britan" comp where people enter a comp and the top 10 all go forward to a pannel of judges at the show. I know it's a different idea to what was thought about but a possibility non the less.... Could see about doing something similar as that may be a way to try and promote the Yamaha's on show?!? Yamaha Best of Britain..........could have the different classes????
  4. Hello and welcome and a very nice choice indeed!!!

    2003 R6

Yeah as Chrisw said it was the carb models that had been know to have a worryingly twitchy rear......if your looking at a bike this shape your fine!!!

    2003 R6

I love mine!!! Although its not a 03 model its the same shape! lol Ive had no troubles with it and in comparison to all the other 600's of this period i think this is the best one to live with. I use mine almost everyday......including today..........and its a 80 mile round trip to work and back and when the roads are dry and the sun is out its never a long enough ride home! Everyone i speak to say its a lot more managable and user friendly on the roads in comparison to the newer style one as this is a lot stiffer and designed more for the track. Hope that helps!!! Matt
  7. Get an Akrapovic Can!!!! Ive got one and its sounds amazing!!!! They cost a fair bit but look the nuts!!!! Here is a pic of mine!
  8. I'd love to stick mine on show!!! I always used to do the modified car shows and got a few trophies for them so would love to get on the show scene again but with bikes!!! =] And by next years show it should be lookin even better than this!!!

    Newbie

Welcome along and good luck with your test. Please please please be careful on the bike as not only will it be your first bike but the earlier R6's have been known to be more twitchy at the rear and can easily throw you over even at 33bhp! You have to remember to respect the bike and it will respect you as it wont be a cheap bike to fix and you insurance wont like you too much if you drop it or crash it!!! Now my sensible bit is over........ Enjoy the bike and safe riding and if you want to gain more experience o the bike one of the best places to learn about bike handling is on a riding school day or trackday, ive been round snetterton on mine and it was a fantastic experience!! Have fun and get some pics up when you get the bike!!! Take care!! Matt
  10. Oh ok, I havent got a clue then!?!?! I thought the split tank thing was only on the new R6............... I baffled then!!! If anyone does find one or even a pic please post as i'd love to see what it looks like!!
  11. Very nice bit of kit!!!
  12. What like this one?!!? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Carbon-fibre-tank-sh...1QQcmdZViewItem
  13. Could be tyres and could just be a slippery bit of tarmac, you can never predict wet tarmac and thats the worst bit about it. Ive had dunlops on my R6 and found them very slippery in the wet and they wore very quick. I now have michelin pilot power and i love them!!! They offer great grip and have given me more confidence in the bike!
  14. That is a stunning bike! I love it!!!!
  15. I've used Shark, AGV, KBC and Arai. The AGV and Shark were nice quiet helmets but since ive been using my Arai could never buy another helmet!!! It is amazingly light, comfortable and the vents on it are superb! I bought myself the 2007 Arai corsair Haga 41 rep and I cant believe how amazing the difference is! Its not a particularly quiet helmet but thats nit picking! Only bad point is that your wallet takes a bit of a hit with these helmets!
  16. Right i think i might re think the respray idea as thats very true that you dont generally see a respray unless its hit teh deck! Just got the hugger and swingarm protectors fitted so more pics of it completed soon!!!! Just want the weather to be better so i can go and give it a good blast!!!
  17. My mate has got a CBR400 and i think they are cracking little bikes!!! He has had a blast on my R6 and has now started the hunt for one as he really enjoyed the blast on it! I do like the yellow ones as they are rare....Hope you have fun searching and nice to see that the old skool bikes are still loved!!!
  18. Im think the oven trick works pretty good as that heats them up nicely although not too long obviously! There are some people that have fitted angel eyes to those lights so they might be able to help! Nice car btw i can appreciate the effort as i had a couple of modded cars myself!!! What are the wheels on it on the top pic as the bottom one has the wolfrace wheels but they arent on the top pic!!! =] Here were my modified cars!! Since these ive grown up and got myself a nice Lexus IS200!!!! lol.... 1997 Toyota Paseo on hydros! 1996 Toyota Paseo
  19. Get an Akrapovic can, i love the sound and although yes it does cost a little more it sounds and looks amazing!!!! Heres mine on my R6:
  20. What bolt am i looking at??? I cant see any that are short?!?!? Will check tonight though!!! Cheers, Matt
  21. Thanks Chris. Yeah the Carbon ones look the nuts although they arent cheap they do look amazing when you look at them when sitting on the bike!!! If you do decide to look into it check Ebay as you can normally find some stunning bargains on there for carbon parts! Ive got my eyes on some gilles rear sets and pazzo levers so they will be next on the list along with some renthal grips as as ive heard they make a nice little touch! Not bad for a daily ride i guess!!! thats why i had it all apart in the first few pics to give it a good clean up as the roads have been a bit nasty recently so to make sure the metals are cleaned and protected! Cheers, Matt
  22. Hi all, Sorry i havent been about much recently i've been a very busy boy and have been buying more toys for the R6.... ....since my last time on here ive got: - YEC Billet Exhaust hanger - Yamaha Carbon Firbe Chain guard - Yamaha Carbon Chain fin - Yamaha Carbon fairing inserts - Yamaha Carbon Hugger - Yamaha Carbon Swingarm boot protector - Yamaha Carbon front fender - Zero Gravity Light smoke double bubble screen - D.I.D gold chain and new sprocket This goes along with: - Carbon Akrapovic Can - R&G Tail tidy - R&G Bobbins - Yamaha single seat cowl - Yamaha Racing Tank protector - Motrax Mini indicators - Michelin Pilot Power Tyres - White reflective rim tape Its now looking quite smart and a tidy machine. I have been toying with the idea of getting a paint job on the bike but am still undecided as although i know what i want its whether i can justify it as ive just spent out on all those extras so far! What else do you think i should do to the R6?!?!?! Here are the pics so far and before anyone tries to catch me out i am aware that the carbon swing arm boot protector and carbon hugger arent on but that is becuase they are sitting in the garage awaiting to go on and took the pics just to see what you guys think!!

    FZ6

I rode a 2007 FZ6 as a courtesy bike when mine was getting serviced and i found it vibrated quite a bit but that was compaired to the R6 which i find a lot smoother. I do not have a lot of riding experience of other bikes so don't know how much that helps?!?!?
  24. Right why do i own a yam.....Have you seen what Haga can do on them...........thats a huge selling point in itself!!! lol..... Honda......sports bikes...lovely reliability but.......too small for tall riders Kawasaki....never really liked them too much until recently and again too small Suzuki....nuff said! Well started on a BW50 SPY and it never let me down and when it did was an easy fix........Went to Cagiva for my 125 (planet) and it was built like an italian bike........say no more........went to uni so sold the cagiva and back on the BW50 SPY and that was a god send to get to uni on. Once at work earning money saw an R6 for sale and have always loved the R-Series from the dawn of time and fell in love with mine after the test ride and the rest they say is history.....
  25. Hi mate, I have one on my 04 R6 and it fits no probs and seems to be spot on for a colour match!! Is it a genuine Yamaha part? Mine is a black one and i dont have any probs with it at all?? Dont know about anyone else!?!??
