  1. Hi Rossi, I don't find it any different at all to be honest, the handling is just the same but cosmetically for what it is it does add a completely enhanced look to the front end.
  2. Thanx for your comments guys. I certainly agree wiv Yoda, I'm not exactly a design engineer, I'm just someone wiv a good eye for nice bikes so if I can do it I'm sure Yamaha could! They did so wiv the 2006 R1 SP as it had some really nice touches and they sold like hot cakes. Would be nice if they could do that more often.
  3. I've just realised the previous pics were quite small so here's some more.....
  4. Hi guys, here's the finished item! As I said in an earlier posting I purchased the FZ1 new in Aug 07 and had her re-sprayed before Xmas as I wanted it in black but there were no more left in the UK. I then added a few after markets goodies: Gilles rearsest, Beowulf can (with gold logo added), Powerbronze hugger, belly pan and Eliminator tail tidy, gold Renthal bars and 47 tooth rear sprocket (black), gold DID chain, Probolt engine kit, Motrax mirrors and Yamaha fly screen. I also painted the top yoke and brake caliper pots myself. Have a look at the before & after pics below to see the transformation.

    R1 blue

I used to buy these small bottles from a guy on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Yamaha-R1-R6-Blue-Pa...1QQcmdZViewItem They are an exact match and he's very reliable with delivery etc.
  6. I KNOW........there's a green wheely bin in the last pic which isn't in the first one!!

    FZ1 POWER VALVE

I disconnected the cables from the servo from under the seat but leave the servo plugged in otherwise the rev counter wont work.
  8. Hi Kev. I managed to get the genuine Yamaha flyscreen off ebay for just £55 in mint condition but failing this I was gonna get the Ermax one. If you go to this link http://www.ermaxuk.co.uk/ and type in your bike details you'll see some goodies they have for the FZ1. Powerbronze also do one but its too high for my liking. Here's a pic of the screen on my bike. I sprayed the brackets gold to go with the colour scheme on the bike
  9. Thanx Matt, I got her 5 years ago, she was a 1999 model and over the years I added this & that as I love to personalise my bikes. I got to the stage where I couldn't do much more to it so I decided after a lot of thought to part company and I put it on ebay and sold it at a profit in just 24 hours. Now got myself a brand new FZ1 (still has the R1 engine) as a new project! This was blue when I got it in Aug but I've had it resprayed (no black ones left in the UK!) and had the wheels done in gold so I could get some aftermarket bits to go with them. Fitted my new Gilles rearsets today....
  10. I found Suomy to be overpriced, they are a fantastic looking helmet but they seems to 'wear' very quickly and thus become loose so they get noisy and uncomfortable.

    Thanx Jeepurz....I've sussed it now!
  12. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR! Having spent nearly £1,200 at the NEC bike show on new leathers, boots, lid, gloves, and parts for my new FZ1 I'm gonna have a great Xmas spending lots of hours in my garage with my baby making her look the muts nuts. She's just been re-sprayed in black with gold wheels and I can't wait to show everyone wot she looms like once I work out how to add pics on this Forum!!! Regards, Gaz
  13. How long is a piece of string?? You really have to shop around and try as many different types as possible if you don't already have a preferred brand. I've always had AGV's as they suit me and my requirements but everyone is different. All I'll say is some are well over-priced as like most things these days you're paying for the name more than safety, comfort, realiability, sound reduction, looks etc.
