  1. Hi J.Neep, you dont say where your from UK or USA , if its USA then parts should be plentyfull , if its UK then its just a matter of searching and cross referencing part number. Just in the process of a resto on my DT1E and find that most of the parts i find are from the states but there are some engine bits that are shared with the early YZ 250. There was a nos main switch on ebay the other day which could be from a CT3 and may be the same as the DT2. Good luck and pm me if you want. Cheers TTB
  2. Have you checked the carb inlet manifolds for leaks, also maybe worth checking the coil pickup behind the generator cover, it can be a number of things so its just a matter of either some else experiencing the same problem and knowing the fix. Or just a process of elimination. TTB
  3. Nets I new it was your bike in the magazine, as i read in on holiday and saved the issue somewhere. It will spur me on the to find it and read it again. There was a 68 model that was on US ebay last night that didnt reach its reserve and that was over $6000. TTB
  4. Yes, ditch the flat tracker as it gone on far to long and get a DT400, far more fun. My DT360 puts a smile on my face when i ride it but thats next years resto project. Regarding the XT well as long as they are set up correctly and you go for a 77 model onwards with a decompression lever there no trouble at all. TTB
  5. Hi Nets, Now thats a nice bike, was it in one of the classic bike magazines. I have a 69 model really rough , no lights with 21" front wheel that i will make into a mx version. This is my 71 E model before and part way through the restoration. Few of mine and heres my favorite Cheers Tommy10bikes
  6. Hi , got a few tt600s and xt600, does it back fire from straight off all the way through the range or after say 3 or 4 mins riding, could be fuel starvation or cdi unit, ensure the inlet hoses are leak free and th link pipe to the rhs carb is clear. cheers TTB
  7. Ha Ha , another enduro nut, im sure if you could get a letter from Yamaha UK declaring the date of manufacture you should be able to registered with an age related one. I in the middle of a resto on my 1971 DT1 which will need registering as its US import, shouldnt be a problem for you as its a UK bike. That many bikes tother sites that can be helpful. 8. Hi Dan not sure if your in the UK but these are the people to chat to, i bought a new carb for my TY50 i restored a few years ago, £70 i think. http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/products-mikuni%20carbs.html Cheers TTB

  10. Hi CT_addict I am, got my confirmation straight away. Or next day anyway, i like the forum as its dedicated to the Yamaha 2 stoke enduro,s. Also member of XT500forum and trailbike and enduro classics. Tommy10bikes
  11. No Confusion now CT Addict , though you can see where the confusion lies, best thing to do is buy some CT Enduros, saves changing your username Cheers Tommy10bikes
  12. It is normal if you leave the bike on tick over, bikes run leaner these days and exhaust pipe are made from thinner wall tube, mostly stainless steel so they due need air flow the keep cool, my beemer was the same. Its not good to keep them on tick over for too long. cheers Tommy10bikes
  13. Hi Ct Addict , I hope it fits. I have a CT3 that will need a new cover , base is in excellent condition and next year i will be looking for a few bits. The bike i have runs and sounds crisp compared to my DT1 i am restoring at the moment. Have you any pics. Cheers Tommy10bikes
  14. Yep one of a few, the bike sounds awesome, no cops about there i see. Looks too fast for me, but does sound good. TTB
  15. Mine is this or a nice 76C model Just love it . Tommy10bikes
  16. Just received my seat and foam from Ceet yesterday for my DT1E and really impressed with it, quiet expensive but it looks a quality item. Cheers Tommy10bikes
  17. I also have a DT360 but it does runn and run well, sound as if its the generator coil that broken down, especally if it only sparks on a charged battery, plugs can break down even new if they have been in and used on a bike that miss fires. Is there any oil residue around the back of the stator plate, regards the timing im sure this is preset and cant be changed. Cheers Tommy10bikes TTB for short
  18. You could try these few http://motors.shop.ebay.com/jrocksqueen2006/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg= http://stores.ebay.com/Pit-Replica http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170542777092&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_507wt_909 Or CEET themselves Let us know how you get on as i need one for my CT3 Cheers Tommy10bikes
  19. Is it u shaped because its compressed over the years or shaped like that, try looking for the other models such as AT2 AT3 CT2 DT3 RT2 RT3 as they use the same part number which should be 308-24612-00-00 Will have a look at mine when i get home tonight. Cheers Tommy10bikes
  20. Hi Armpit , looking at the diagram just to get a spark all you need is the brown wire from the generator and wire it to the coil, just make sure the coil is earthed where its bolted to he frame and the points are clean. I had a few hours trying to get my DT1 going and in the end the points where tarnished and needed sanding a bit. Good luck with the wiring . Tommy10bikes
  21. Nice bike blackhat250, and in Scottish colours as well, was it restored or was it just looked after. Cant beat the old DT now there are less of them, even i have been bitten this year. Managed to get hold of a DT360 an get it running, also have a CT1 and a DT1 1971 model thats having its metal work sprayed as we speak. I do like the 76 red and white colour scheme and theres one on ebay at the moment and a 250B. Well done with the purchase. Cheers Tommy10bikes

    Newbie

Just thought i would say hi, had bikes all my life since the age of 13 now im 46 and still mad over them. Like the old stuff but my newest bike is an XT660R but my favourite is my 1978 xt500e which i have fully rebuilt. I also a member of both the XT forums and frequent them every night. Too many bikes to list and i dont like to brag but i do have a few bikes. Looking forward to chatting on the forum but i will more that likely frequent the classic section ad off road. Cheers Tommy10bikes
