  1. Idles fine but dies upon throttle..... 1st thing that ALWAYS comes to mind........dirty or plugged Pilot Jets........cleaning 'em should make quite a diff.
  2. Nice XJ Steve I've had 3 of those in the past.......& I rode mine year-round....in rain & snow. Last 1 had over 130k on the clock when I sold it. Bullet-Proof old Beasts.
  3. Hmmmm......might be something I'll have to look into for my XT600 SupaMoto.
  4. to the forum Chrissie An FZR 250 eh?.......another cool bike we don't get over 'ere! Put up some pics of it once you've got a few more posts.
  5. to the forum JCS 30k on a 9 y/o bike?.....just got broke in! If you look after that beast properly......you'll be surprised how far it'll go before anything major rear's it's ugly head. Great ride for a trip to the "Gap"
  6. Best of Luck on your adventure Spenc..... Wise choice of machinery if you ask me ......
  7. I hear ya there Drewps They race ALL kinds of cool stuff @ both tracks......like the V8 SuperCars & Semi-Truck races from Phillip Island..... & @ Laguna, they run GPV (Gravity Powered Vehicle) races......Road Luge, chainless bicycles, etc......interesting to say the least. But I'd love to see some of this if I ever get the chance...... SuperKarts I've seen here in Portland before.......Damn Fast machines! Eddie Lawson is known to have lapped Laguna @ WSBK paces aboard these TZ250 powered beasts. Pullin' some SERIOUS G's in the corners! Wayne Rainey also races these with his Pal Eddie..... His Kart has a cool cockpit.......no steeering wheel......instead a handlebar & grips.
  8. Vic doesn't know what kind of sh*t he just stepped in! .........
  9. Could be the pick-up coils are the guilty culprit......(left end of the crank)....which send the initial signal to the CDI/TCI box. Easy to get to......& worth having a look to check voltages.
  10. Good point......was key in me getting my RD's front brake bled properly.

Indeed!....that frog needs a good windshield to run into!
  12. Long-Live the Blue Hue! aboard Rob
  13. Well familiar with the Yellow Hammer Merv. That's the handywork of 1 Mr. Newitt.....site admin @ YamaThump & yes, it may seem like a helluva price for that bike ......but the attention to detail is absolutely 2nd to none. That was PhaseIII of a series of SupaMoto builds he's done.......he's now in the process of building PhaseIV & it promises to be better yet. He owns & operates his own bike shop......& is 1 of the biggest Yamaha thumper advocates I know......has helped me out with my XT issues plenty of times.
  14. I once made a carb rubber for my old piston-port Bultaco......out of a bit Radiator hose ......it actually worked quite well......& I couldn't beat the price!
  15. to the Dark side Divster ...... Long live Year-round Stealth Bikes!

    Can you help

You should be fine dropping down 1 gear for overtaking on Dual CarriageWay speeds..... It's all down to how you use the clutch & your engine speed.

When changing out sprockets.....if @ all possible.....try to get @ least one sprocket with an odd number of teeth... It'll make the chain last longer......proven fact.

  23. Sounds like you might have an ignition issue ...... Might as well throw a new plug in there & maybe position the plug on the head so you can read it easier whilst kicking the little beast over. Post up some pics of it when ya get the chance.
  24. to the forum Swanny Knowing that the frames differ from the FZ to the FZR.....I'm not sure they'd fit But considering the FZ600 uses the same frame as the 400.....an airbox from the 6 might be what you're looking for? Best of Luck with it.

    More Ink

TRUE to the cause here ........ Essentially, this is my wedding ring.....cuz I HATE wearing jewelry on my hands! Designed it myself in about 15 mins.......then had some big No-Neck Rhino of a Biker ink it up for me. I wanna get another one sometime......maybe something like Jesse James has.......a motorcycle chain wrapped around my arm a few times.
