Could it get anymore complicated ? So the fuse blowing looks to be that the ignition switch powers the lights (using the battery ) when in the no3 position ( off, on, on with lights and park) so is this right? All the wiring diagrams I have seem to show one of the mag wires ( yellow) powers the lights! now I know you can't post links to stuff but my Haynes shows it different to one I've found on the web and different to my ig switch.Ive belled it through and there is a spare red/yellow wire from the on/off - high/low handlebar switch which I think at one time maybe powered the lights! Hi,just deristricted my 125re with the speedo trick goes 20 mph quicker now,however it's a bugger to start in the mornings 4 or 5 times before it starts,just put a brand new plug in it, decoked the exhaust and put some new quality 2 stroke oil in it,its garaged, any ideas?

Hello all never used a forum for advice before but this bike is getting on my nerves I have a dt125r 2003 I recently bought as a non runner, I rebuilt the engine all new seals and bearing and gaskets. The bike will run fine with the choke out but as soon as I take the choke off it won't tick over or even Rev! I have had the carb striped and cleaned (all fine). Reed block and reeds are fine. New piston and rings (barrel is fine) compression is good anyone had this problem before? Many infomation would be helpful thanks

First off hello everyone new to the forum got a problem with my sons 2000 model dtr125 here goes noticed a lot of blowby on standard piston when fitting a dep pipe, whipped the top end off and sent to pjme for a rebore new piston and a shave of the power valve as its now going to be 2.00 oversize got the parts back checked the ring end gaps etc all bang on put it together checked its turning free then tried to start it and 6 kicks later very erratic idles like the slide is stuck slightly open then tried to stall then Rev up again, I killed the bike took the plug out turned the kickstart quite hard and notice a metal to metal knock now the piston box is…

hi all, i have an 02 dt1215r that i have recently re-jetted, the carb from standard had a jet size of 240 and upped it to a 260 because i changed the exhaust tailpipe to an athena one, so was wondering if i should(if its even possible) adjust the oil pump to give a bit more oil/fuel mix. bike doesn't get thrashed or even given a hard time probably 6500rpm max so that it clears its throat, bike is only used for pottering round on sunny days like we are having at the moment

Can't seem to get hold of the following bits fuel cap seal. Rubber gasket that sits inside the fuel cap bash plate fuel tap strainers(small mesh type filters that sit inside the fuel tank and are attached to the tap)

does anyone have a wiring diagram for a dt50mx 5m6 please with cdi ignition. i want to use the cdi system on a different bike to replace a points system. Pete

Hi all , I’ve just brought an xt350 one owner from new 12000 miles on the clock. ? I’m wondering what sort of top speed people are getting out of there xt350’s I can only get about 65 mpg tops on a flat and I thought it was a bit low ? I have given it a full service and compression is good, it seems a tiny bit underpowered for a 350 single to me , am I wrong ?

New to forum having just bought a dt175mx 1980. Back in the day I worked on these a lot so pretty comfortable with everything accept diagnosing electrics. And talk about bad luck, the headlights and tail lights stopped working at the MOT yesterday resulting in a failure Have since discovered the lights are turned on and off at the ignition switch as well as the handlebar switch. Will leave the post just in case there is anyone else out there as stupid as me and the MOT tester!

hi I've just joined so hello to everyone. My all rounder bike is a 2003 Fazer FZS 1000, which I've owned since new. It was silver but is now white with red blocks, that's down to foolish behaviour when riding in a group, story for another time. I recently acquired a DT175 which is not bad, actually has an MOT; the owner threw in a few spares, including a Yamaha engine, looks like i's for an off road or trail bike, twin spark plugs, but he didn't know what it was off, photos attached. Hey all, just trying to get an old 1980 DT175 to start up. No spark, but checked resistance through stator/magneto windings and seem good enough to produce. Coils seems shot but just ordered a new once. I just wanted to check if my wiring is correct before I replace the CDI or other components. My CDI has 7 wires, with all connected except for one black wire cut extremely short. Any ideas? I only care about getting spark, and am not running a battery, hence the battery being omitted and all wiring past the voltage reg listed as "To accesories." Link to an image of my diagram below. Hi guys I’ve recently got a new bike (Guess which one lol). It’s far from untouched and I would love to really show it some attention, do some tasteful mods and stuff, and I would like to bring it up to date with everything that has happened in the past 17 years. it’s currently got a few mods but it’s a bit of a mystery, I know it has an Athena top end kit, I believe someone has put forks off of something else on there and they’re leaking so I’ll need to figure that out. Hi I have a DT125 LC without engine. I know its around an 84 model but I need some more help identifying it, as I want to know what year engine to buy for it. What should I be able to find on the bike to tell me what year engine I need for it? Any help much appreciated thanx Greg.

Hi, Can anyone confirm for me if the TTR125 & Xt125R/X share teh same engine? I have been led to beleive this but not by a reliable source. They certainly look the same... but we all know that can be deceiving. Also 2 last pleas 1) can anyone help me get hold of a wiring diagram for an XT125R and 2) does anyone know of a way to up the power slightly I am not a learner rider, I just bought it as a cheap commuter, but really it has naff all power. (the headlight is uselesss as well! (even with an uprated halaogen lamp fitted) Thanks in advance XTDan

I just rebult my front brake caliper on one of my dirtbikes and now the brake wont work.I put in new brake fluid and everything but it wont work for some reason.I was told that I have to bleed the caliper to get the air out of the lines but I dont know much about disk brakes so i dont know how to bleed them.Is bleeding the caliper what im supposed to do?If so how do I bleed it?
