Dual Sport, Offroad Bikes

Im really stuck as to what 125 i can get, my friends cousin has a DT for sale thats in very good condition for £1000 and ive read reviews on them and they seem very good, im interested as to what speed they can go, and how good they are for off road use and there pulling power. I have also seen a KMX 125 for sale for about £1250ish, ive read reviews on this bike aswell and they seem to be about the same. Which is more customizable and which can travel a bit nippier. My Gilera RCR 50 is incredibly slow and means im always at the back of our group and struggle up hills an insane ammount It would be nice to get a good 125 so i would really appreciate the help Thank you! ! …

my dtre 07 seems to dislike coolent, every time i top it up it just comes back out the overflow when im driving ive been leaving little puddles of it every where any ideas how to stop this would be great

im new here so firstly hello to all. im wondering if somone can help me i have a 1999 yamaha dt125r (i beleave it was from holland originally) it might make a diffrence i dont know. :S the problem i have is a lack of power ive cleaned all the carb there was a little amount of what looked like rust so cleaned it out but the bike is the same still. i had a very similar problem to this a few months ago put a new battry on and it was perfect. but ive changed the battry again and its still the same. the bike builds up speed slowly if i open the throttle to far its like it floods it and the bike wants to slow. the bike can be very gitery. im wondering if it is a power valv…

im led to beleive that by using a smaller back sprocket i will get more top end speed,how many teeth do i need to go down on from the standard sprocket

I just got this bike from my grandpa. It was sitting up north for a few years since the last time it was used. Currently, it will start up and run for a bit, but after a few it bogs out. To me it seems like it's not getting enough gas. The carburetor has been cleaned out and I have checked pretty much everything else. My dad mentioned that the oil pump might not be working correctly, but I'm not sure how to tell. My guess is that it's just not getting gas though. Also, I messed something up, took off the crankcase to fix it and obviously lost all of the oil that was in it. I'm new to bikes and was wondering what kind of oil you put in a crankcase. Hey everyone, time has come to sell my bike, It's sat in the shed not doing alot and it could be someone elses pride and joy who will be able to give it some tlc and actually ride it. Anyway in it's current condition can anyone tell me how much I could sell it for? Hello all bought my bike a few days ago and needs a good clean up but need to know some things first.... What cdi do i need i brought one of ebay didnt seem to start checked for spark and it did bright blue big spark! But noticed when i pulled plug out covered in fuel! I then noticed fuel leaking from carb i think the float was sticking so could this cause it to flood? Anyway it did start for a split second so does this mean i have the right cdi? It would not start at all after this!! 6 wire cdi btw but previous owner made into enduro so not all wires need to be connected also could someone tell me what wires to what colour wise?

Hi guys, My brother sold me this motorbike years ago for £80. It's in boxes, I've never seen it together. I don't really know what it is, I'm a car guy, I've never worked on bikes before. When he sold it to me he said he thought it was a dt70? I've Googled a bit and can't find much on that... Can anybody shed any light? It's water-cooled... The cylinder and piston are scored so it needs a rebore or a replacement, what's best? Cheers guys

Hi Folks, I've just been to watch a section on the Welsh 2 Day. Good fun. I would say I saw a couple of hundred going through. A sprinkling of Yamaha WFs and Hondas, but mainly Suzuki DRZs and KTMs. KTMs seems to be the weapon of choice. Sad to see so few 2 strokes :cry: The smell of Castrol R must be the best smell of all time ........

......best condition and cleanest used DualSport machine? It was reasonable condition when I got it....but now it really is exceptional! 8) Can anybody beat that? 8)

i had planned to give the klr a good service at 2k miles. what with work etc i'm a hundred miles over that but will get it done tomorrow after my run(will prob be about 2250 then if the weathers ok ) some castrol gtx, new plug and oil filter was bought for it today(along with a set of gold renthal bars ) i really like this bike you know

My first bike, dt 125 r, and I can't even get the steering lock to work. I'm gonna contact the guy I got it off but first I thought I'd try here. I turn the bars to the right and revealed is what i assume is the steering lock. I pull the slider back, put the key in, and its not turning. (It is the right key fits well ) I thought maybe i had to get a precise angle with the turning bars so I tried all positions and it still wont turn they key, is it me or the bike?? Hi all. I'm new to the forum and pretty new to the 2 stroke thing. I JUST bought a 1973 Yamaha CT3 175 in great shape. However, it seems to stumble a bit at higher RPMs. I've seen this problem described several times on bikes for sale and figure there's some common thing that causes it. However, I don't know what the cure is. Are there any 2stroke guys out there that might have an answer? Thanks

Went out for a ride yesterday with a mate....to have a close look @ Mt. St.Helens from a place called the Windy Ridge viewpoint. We'd heard reports of snow possibly closing the road near the destination, but ran into the white stuff a bit sooner than we thought...... I bought this bike from this guy and he said its a yamaha 250 but he didnt know the year or model of the bike.He said he got it from a guy that used to race it.The engine looks bigger than 250cc to me.If anyone can tell me anything about the bike by the pictures please post what you know.
