Fitted new front tyre and tube a month or so ago. Yesterday, the best day of our year up here so far, and flat tyre. Looked at it last night pumped it up and left it. This morning, another cracker, and flat as fek again. In from work tonight, changed the valve and this time I 'painted' some soapy liquid around the valve and stem. BIG bluddy bubbles coming from the base of the valve stem..........so need to get the thing off and pick up another new tube

Hi guys / ladys First post so sorry if it poorly presented. I passed my test this week after a few weeks on off training. I had not riden a bike since i was 17 years old, must be the age because i had the sudden to get back on a bike. 3 weeks ago i sat the theory test (what was that hazard perception thing all about) Cbt & a few lessons later there i was with a pass certificate. Next decision what bike? Did some research on various sites on recomendations for a good bike to start with after 24 years no riding. recieved some great advice from severa; people & came up with a shortlist of 3. 1/ Honda cbr600f 2/ Yamaha Fazer 3/ YZF 600 Thundercat. Ca…

Decided to go out for my first decent ride since getting the old XJ900 and since i only passed my test last Thursday.Met up with my mate on his CBR600 and off we went down to Aviemore in the Highlands.Weather was ok,cloudy but dry.Had a great run, just taking my time and getting used to 2 wheels.Only one hairy moment when a pheasant decided to try and land on top my head! Every biker that we passed smiled, waved and nodded, why cant car drivers be more happy??? Anyway i just wanted to share with you,i'm off work this week so i'll be getting a few more miles under my belt. For an old bike the XJ900 was great fun with loads of character and very comfy.

Well now. After years of riding I finally decided to go out for a spin this evening after work with a pillion. Common sense, sociologists and fancy equations would have told me one of the 2 boys would have been holding on for dear life but nope, that privilege went to my youngest daughter (11yrs). And here's the thing .... We only travelled a total of about 5 miles to some coast line, stopped, looked around for a bit before heading back as she's going out tonight with her mum. Stopped briefly to reward her with some chocolate for not falling off. And yet when we got off the bike in the driveway and I helped take off her helmet ... Well, we may as well have just stepped of…

A young man goes to a whorehouse to expierence his first taste of sex. The madam suggests that he start with 69. He decides to give it a try. The prostitute leads him to a room, gets undressed, and instructs the young man to eat her pussy. Unfortunately, just as he starts she farts. The man quietly says to himself, "phew", but he goes down on her again. A moment later she farts again. He says "phew", but continues. Once more she farts. This time he immediately gets up and starts walking out. She asks him what's wrong, and he replies "I don't think I can take another 66 of those!"

Just been out on the bike for the first time this year, it needed fuel and after all the suspension work over the winter I wanted to know if anything would fall off before I even thought about a longish run. Sun shining and almost empty roads was almost like being back in the 60s! Wife asked me if it was alright but I think the huge grin said it all. That said NOT ONE of the folks at the garage filling station had a mask or even a pair of gloves while using the pumps? are they just to cool to bother with this disease do you think? I had a crash helmet thick gloves and my snood on (it was chilly) but really! Moan over, that was a good day after 7 weeks indoors.

So finally got the bike finished, as I said before the wheel bearings were a tad knackered and I owe my MOT guy a beer! Did the fork stantion replacement and new fork springs tho that was a bit of a faff, I forgot that you have to fix the fork inner cartridge before you try to ram the seals in cos that way you fuck the new bearings and the inner components so what's another £80 when you think about it! Well it's finally done and next years ride out will see me not bouncing round corners like a horse on crack. So I'm off the road till April and then I'm thinking of doing the run down to Portugal again tho Bippo's story about the mountains in Italy has made me think about t…

Ok as some of you know I went and bought myself a nice shiny FJR as a present to myself, it's the 2001 model so does not have all the electrical crap that the new ones do, anyway I knew that it needed a new radiator when I bought it, not leaking but really had a hard life sitting at the front of the bike right behind the front wheel which spits gravel and road crap up at it all day long, long story short went to the Owners club for a new rad and they do a genuine one at £615 + VAT or a Chinese one for £120 + VAT, so EBAY is my next stop and got one for £75 brand new next day delivery from China ( bloody hell!) then the not to small task of fitting it, been 8 days now, you…

So decided I am just too idle to adjust the FJR valves myself so sent it into the shop for them to do it (FJ OWNERS CLUB). It's actually a lot of work to adjust the valves on the FJR, lot's of pipe work and draining fluids and such plus remove the cam shafts and truth to tell I have other things that I wanted to do. So drag the wife out with me in the car so she can bring me home after I drop off the bike, that's about the nearest I am ever going to get her on the thing..! Said they would call me when it's ready, it takes about 3 hours to cool down before you can tackle this job as it needs to be stone cold for the actual adjustment, this is at 9.30 Friday AM. Get a call …

Ok i got the arse today, (no chips at the seaside) hurt my foot at work which had put me in a bad mood then for the umpteent time when i get back to the yard one of the office wads pipes up with; " Oh it must be so much better riding to work on these lovely mornings"; to be fair he was in an insuferably good mood. He looked surprised when i told them that at 4am its not a hole shit load different to what it was a month ago. The response, "Oh well, i do 9 till 4 so i wouldn't know"; that made me feel a hole lot better as i work 4 till 3
