I mean like Fizzies and early Yammies (RDs etc.) have? If we'd all bought RDs 10-15 years ago (when they were real cheap) we'd be sitting on a bit of an 'investment' now. Same with MK1 Ford Escorts - couldn't give them away 20 years ago . . . have you seen the prices now? I guess I'm trying to figure the next 'thing'. Your thoughts gentlemen?

Hey there peeps. Been a while since I updated the toybox, managed to pick up a rather unusual piece... It came from Holland, and was used at Venray motor Speedway Stadium before it closed down some 7 years ago. It runs, there are no brakes (you die like a man) and it's just a little bit nutty, kind of like me. It's nice to have something unusual, and even nicer to have something with a story (including the dented tank that resulted in a broken collarbone!) , I'm undecided Wether to move it on or just hang it up in the unit beside my Aprilia

Final job interview for one of, if not the largest UK advertising mediums. Won't tell u what it is exactly coz I'm nervy as hell, starting to shake ever so gently - been through 2 face to face interviews already and a silly phone interview all with flying colours. Just spent the best part of a week preparing a Power Point presentation for it - something sales reps and ad reps need to do all the time - 'Death By Power Point' but I'm crap at it hence why it's taken soooo looong. It's the biggest job I've ever gone for in my life and man, I am really strung out especially when you consider I haven't done Jack for the last 8 months odd and that crap the other day f…

Hi everyone just wondering, what was the stupidest thing you've ever done on your bikes?, even if by accident?. for example, sneezing with your visor closed when stopped at the traffic lights with some other mates on peds, then taking your hand off the clutch lever to wipe it forgetting that it was in first, stalling the bike and then the light turning green whilst you are still fumbling around with the kickstart and your mates have rode off into the distance. just silly little things like these

I'm new here, just had a quick look around and decided to join to get some info before i go ahead and buy a bike. I drive a mini at the moment: But i'm after a bike as well so i don't end up spending all my money on my car Plus something to get to work on that doesn't use as much fuel and will be fun in the summer. Been sent in the direction of a DT125 SM, but i really don't no anything about them. Any info would be great, things to look out for etc. Not looking to get a bike license for the moment so just a 125 i can run with a provisional.

Don't you find it gauling that as motorcyclists we are being shafted by the manufacturers over the awful fuel economy of our bikes? My current steed is a 650cc twin, it weighs 215Kg and is capable of transporting 2 adults and a small amount of luggage. Fuel economy = 40-45mpg. My last bike was a XJ900S Diversion, 900cc transverse inline 4 cylinder which weighed 239Kg and is capable of transporting 2 adults and a small amount of luggage. Fuel economy = 45-50mpg. Whereas, my Ford Focus is a 1600cc transverse inline 4 cylinder which weighs 1200Kg, is capable of transporting 5 adults and a not inconsiderable amount of luggage. Fuel economy = 37-40mpg. (as a point of refer…

Because of the constant rain lately I have been constantly on the look out for man hole covers, so I can avoid them. I nearly come off going over one a while back, so now I am very vigilant. I have noticed that they always seem to be on corners on junctions, so every time I am turning at a junction or going round the corner it makes it more difficult because there is always at least one man hole cover to avoid. Also they also always seem to be in clusters of three of four. I don't know what it's like in your town but in Bradford they are in the most ridiculous, hazardous places which make it very dangerous for bikers. Obviously the groundworks teams that situate them do n…

Well peeps, im starting this thread early as i will be working over xmas and away shortly in the new year. at the moment it looks like the calenders are coming from vistaprint and will cost around £10 for a wall calender or £6 for a desk calender, if you order any other YOC merchandise at the same time you will get a postage discount (please pm with your requirements and i can get you a quote). postage overseas or to islands will cost more. i may be able to find a local company who is able to do it cheaper although i cant tell for sure probably until the new year VOTING: now, here's how it works, at the top of the page you will see a poll (once artwork has bee…

Won a bike on ebay. should be going to pick it up this weekend! Unfortunately not a yammy, AGAIN I love big singles, and kick starters (it would seem) So the bike is a 1990 Suzuki DR 650 RS. more of an adventure looking bike then the usual DR650. Main reason for another bike, is just the thought of taking my husky out on the gritted roads makes me want to cry, as does thinking about riding it a very far distance. Hopefully this should be just the ticket. What do you lot think? YES i know, it looks rather dated, but i'm not trying to look cool for the other bikers lol. i'll let the power rangers do their thing, and the big 12…

Yesterday I thought I would take advantage of what's left of the warm sunny weather and took a ride out instead of working in my garden. I rode to box hill and instead of going straight into Rykers cafe I went to the top of the hill which is something that I haven't done in years. As soon as I parked I knew that I had made a mistake as I was on parked on a gravel slope. Sure enough when I came to leave I struggled to back out, my feet kept slipping on the gravel and it took me about ten minutes to get out by rocking the bike back an inch a time and holding it on the brake, when I finally got out I realised that two old boys had been watching my antics and found it most am…

Bit of a ramble here but as a biker how do you view cyclists? There sure are a lot about now A number of you will be cyclists too, as I am - serious cycling seems to have become popular For me open roads are far too dangerous for bicycles but these cycling enthusiasts brave them As a motorcyclist the worst situation is turning a corner to find an oncoming car who is overtaking a cyclist Some car drivers just swoop past cyclists, as in the circumstances above, and others hang back for ages Most cyclists realise that two abreast irritates motorists and they usually go single file eventually I think motorbikes are safer than bicycles but I do not know if statisti…
