Hi, I am new to the forum. I recently bought a 1986 FZ600 that is not currently running, due to the last owner blowing the engine and ripping out important pieces before I got my hands on it (and I am still trying to save money for a new engine and whatnot). I look forward to getting help and support from other Yamaha owners like yourselves.

Hey guys its brandon again, I am just wanting to stop in and update where im at. I haven't made a whole lot of progress. but what i have found is the wiring is all chopped up on my bike and it pisses me off to no end when fools get a bike and just destroy it when they are doing so called fixing it. I mean im not really a mechanic or anything but so much of machanictry is to do with common sense and taking your time and diagraming I can't understand as to why it would be so hard to no destroy a bike when you need some fixing done. oh well anyways the bike still wont spark I am getting the engine to crack over and the gears work so idk I know the cdi and the starter …

well, today it happened. for the first time in about 6 months my trusty thrusty little DT let me down . after weeks of sunny weather the heavens decided to open and it has p*ssed it down almost non-stop all day, and whilst i was at school the DT was left outside in the elements for six hours, so i come out and jumped straight on it, started 2nd kick with the choke on and ldled nicely, but as i get to the end of the street it started four-stroking and wouldn't rev above 2-3k, i thought nothing of it at the time because the bike was still cold. i manage to get it out on the main road and keep up with the flow of traffic by "adjusting" the fuel tap to get it r…

Your Driving Licence - Beware IS YOUR DRIVING LICENCE STILL VALID? Unwitting motorists face £1,000 fines as thousands of photo card driving licences expire. Thousands of motorists are at risk of being fined up to £1,000 because they are unwittingly driving without a valid licence. They risk prosecution after failing to spot the extremely small print on their photo card licence which says it automatically expires after 10 years and has to be renewed - even though drivers are licensed to drive until the age of 70. The fiasco has come to light a decade after the first batch of photo licences was issued in July 1998, just as they start to expire. Motoring org…

Hi there, im quite new to biking and this forum. I passed my CBT a few weeks ago looking to insure myself on a 07 YBR, i am still in the process of looking for sensibly priced insurance! Im now thinking of taking my full test but it has just changed. Does anyone know any details of the new test? Ive had a look at the DSA website and its not all that clear, ive heard that the new restriction will be 44bhp for 4 years and that i wont have to take a theory/hazard test as i already have a full car test under my belt. Is any of that true? Any help much appreciated guys. CJ

I was tinkering with my bike today (for the first time ever), and I managed to fix a problem (air filter and box getting filled with oil when the engine is hot, then dumping it all over the road when I stop). I went out for a 60mile round trip, and ... no leak, no smoke..........BLISS That feeling of having managed to fix a problem on your own (with the help of the YOG forum) was f***ing amazing! Considering I'm a complete newbie when it comes to bike mechanics, I was chuffed, almost as much as passing my test with only 1 minor after being certain I'd failed it at the first roundabout! Anyone got other bike-related moments of bliss?

Ahem minor confession for the benefit of others. Took the long way home today. As i finish at 1, sun's out so go find some warm tarmac, well suffice to say i was enjoying myself. I was going fast enough to make the race can seem quiet Went tonking round a loverly 3 figure bend then when the bypass runs out its back to bumpy country stuff but y'know the bloods up. Flick left, then right bike kicking over the bumps. Heading for the roundabout i learn't to knee down on so a personal favorite, grabbed a handfull....... of fcuk all. Pumped em up with a squeeze and got through a bloody site faster than i planned to. Thankfully the roundabout is biiiig an…
