I always read it as without caps. caps come in two flavours 5 ohms and 10 ihms. the 10 ohms give a weaker but longer spark, with the 5k strong but short, depends on the bike specs really.

wasn't too sure this was on today,so took a chance as I was only a few miles from Astley Green Colliery. Turns out that there were a few Velos there and other bikes. Had a mooch round and I would recommend a visit if you have never been before this huge beast was in a shed at the back of the grounds, Eccles built Gardner engine and to top it off, I got 2nd prize for non-Velo bike(didn't even know there was any) nice Birthday pressie

back on this, thinking the blue/yellow wire maybe a feed rather than an earth to the TCI? have posted on the XJ forum and see what they say. the Yellow/blue is from the safety cutout switches (neutral and sidestand) but goes into the diode pack where it gets all skewed and I can't tell what does what with all the diodes and relays etc inside

the folks on 2 stroke forum swear by it too
