Now now peeps, if we spent all day arguing about what we should and shouldnt have done, i would still be riding my old DT, none of us would have been married and our lives would be awesome. kinda forgot where im going with this, im off to browse ebay...

  10. Hi everyone, Trying to get the electric start working on Grouchs XT and was wondering if there are any electrical interlocks which may stop it working, ive noticed the front brake switch doesnt work so maybe this could be a factor, on pressing the start button there is no noise at all, no relay clicking, no starter motor noises or anything. anyone else found this problem and maybe a solution? have yet to break out the voltmeter as of yet
  11. Whey! another local!, im just up the road from you at Cosford airbase ive got a DT50 nearing the end of its rebuild, so feel free to ask if you need any info . just for the record, nothing wrong with Hondas.

Now its just a case of waiting for the postie to deliver my plastic paints, indicator relay, fork oil and seals, engine oil, case bolts, chain and sprocket set, fork gators, grips, switchgear, ignition barrel, headlight, and inner tubes. gonna be another busy weekend also started making a fibreglass topbox for the trip to squires, dont want another repeat of last year having to bodge a 12v socket to the fireblade and then having it catch fire .

That looks like the sort i need, the indicator switchgear needs replacing anyway as it has rotted away inside Also, the engine was full of mayonaise when i opened it up Here is how it looks now, im running with the original plastics until i can find some good originals, or paint them. Very happy with how the swingarm came out I did have a brief moment of sitting on it making vroom-vroom noises, was like being 16 again

Havent found the part numbers yet, CMSNL dont list the DT50MX waiting on some emails back to see if i can get them from a UK supplier, may have to nip in to my local yam dealer and get them to look it up on the microfiche
  20. Post an intro dude, that will increase your replies for sure. pull the choke on and see if it helps.

Pah!, that CMSNL site doesnt recognise the DT50MX!...
  22. WTTF Bud, Personally, i would put a plank of wood across the steps you describe and ride it/wheel it up the plank, then just put the plank away when you're done.
