  1. I know the breather you're talking about, its a larger diameter and is connected to the centre of the airbox at the rear. Its this breather that i've mentioned contained a bit of creamy goo, was wondering if this is signs of a problem?
  2. Thanks folks, i see a stub on the LHS of the airbox, reckon thats where it goes. On another point, the pipe which runs from the back of the engine to the centre of the airbox had a bit of creamy goo in it. Is this a problem? Know creamy goo in a car engine would indicate blown head gasket so thought i'd ask.

Was poking around my FZR again yesterday & noticed that there was a hose lying loose. Its approx 2 foot long, has a black jobbie (yes, thats a technical term!! ) in the middle - see pic below. Anyone know what this is? I think its a vent hose but not sure where it should be connected to. Thanks all!
  4. Welcome! Nice bike. Liking the single sided swing arm - whats it off originally? Was it hard to fit?

You sure? I havent had time to investigate yet but bike symptoms sound identical to those mentioned in the following thread. EXUP Revs ok when static, struggles when under load. Also hard to start.

Is there anyway to test my CDI for faults? (have a 3HE FZR600) Also, how can i check that my exup system is working properly. Thanks.
  8. I have a 3HE FZR, noticed similar problem when first got it (& posted it on here!) Someone was kind enough to reply and tell me that its a common fault cos the timing is set to provide better top-end, which results in people dragging the clutch to get bike to pull away at lower rev range (below 3000rpm). To be honest, i just got used to it - wasn't a major issue. As you say, its fine for normal riding.
  9. Nope. Real thing. See below link for project pics. Crazy French bloke. Get a better hobby!
  10. I believe the designer/fabricator is French. Think that says it all.....

UGP stands for Ulster Grand Prix supporters club. I used to be a regular member, but have lost track recently. Will make few enquiries, see what i can find out.

A really good one can make approx £500, while fair/average ones make about £350 (totally my opinion - i'm no expert) Its like everything else, you get the right punter you'll get more than otherwise.
  14. Hi all. Been trying to source parts for the electrics on my 3HE FZR600. Found a guy locally who's breaking a similar bike - but his CDI, voltage reg etc are different to mine. However, I'm wondering is it possible to change my whole electrics for his, i.e. coils, cdi, voltage reg, full loom. Is this possible, or is it best avoided? My loom shows evidence that someone has been doing some DIY bodging before, thought clean loom always good plus would hopefully sort out my problems at last!! All opinions gratefully received :-)

Unfortunately I dont have a parts list. Its a voltage regulator i'm after (non-genuine from Taiwan). The seller has a list of bikes which it'll suit (apparently) including FZR600 1990-1993 which should include my 3HE. But then they list (for reference) the Yamaha part number which begins 3TJ. Am hopeful it'd be ok, but thought i'd ask for second opinion as unsure of 3TJ/3HE differences. Have bought genuine used ones off ebay before only for them to be wrong/broken.
  16. Call me mad - but why not just list it in the For Sale section on here??? Cant hurt.....

Hi all. Was looking on ebay for parts for my 3HE FZR600. A vendor has what i'm looking for but says its for a 3TJ model. Whats the difference between these? Listing states the right year for my bike, but the Yamaha part number given for reference only starts 3TJ. All help greatly appreciated.
  18. Sorry chum, would love to but bike still not running right :-(

You know how sometimes people should think more before they speak? Radio 1 were reading out reactions from celebs to his death. Cher apparently said 'He touched people in a way that few others ever could' Yeah, thats why he ended up in court!!!

Will do. Have so many ideas for new ink. Wanna get the one on my back expanded / covered up cos its way too small. Also tempted to get my leg tat added to. But thanks for the advice Goff

Know the stuff you mean, my mates used it for delicate areas like kneecaps etc. At least i know to expect the worst, but sometimes these things just gotta be done......

Hi all. Have just finalised design (in me head!) for my next tat. Gonna be down my right hand side, pretty much full length of my side. But i'm really aware that its gonna hurt like hell cos of the area (though it'll be worth it!) has anyone else had ink done in similar area - was it sore? Goff, know you're the resident ink expert - maybe you can advise? Don't think that anything will put me off the idea, but just curious about how sore its gonna be!

Definately worth pushing the case. My sis-in-law bought a new Vauxhall Corsa last year, had a persistant problem with the brakes. Similar story with dealer, 'we fixed it' - no u didn't, 'we fitted new parts' - no you didn't, etc. End result was solicitors letters to vauxhall Uk & lots of phone calls to them - end result was a replacement car and apology. Just takes one crappy dealer full of muppet staff to spoil a new purchase experience. DONT BACK DOWN!!!
