Greetings,

I'm brand new to bikes and brand new to this forum, so Hi there all! :)

Got my CBT around 3 months ago and had my YBR 125 (just under 3 years old) for around 2 months.

Had a few issues with sticky and occasionally slipping gears, but looking around that appears to be normalish.

My question today is about what I can only describe as a 'clattering' noise coming I think from clutch/gearbox.

When stood still there is nothing loose and no noise when reving the engine.

I hear it when riding in gear with little to no throttle or during gear changes.

I plan to get it serviced in a week or so, but I want to know if I should stop riding it until after it's looked at, or if I'm worrying over nothing.

Many thanks.

Pie

I think you're spot-on... the chain is very loose...

This gives me an excuse to get the spanners out.

Thanks again.

Dont forget you do need to have some slack, I dont know how much, that is for you to find out (a manual) or ask on here but I would guess at around 1.5" at the centre of the chain until you find out the correct figure, remember better slack than tight.
