  1. Hi Dave, Do I need special lazer equipment to check the alignment? or can I use anything, on TDM Thanks , Rick
  2. A real puzzle Are the tyres on the right way round? that is does the arrow point in the direction of rotation

    thats a matter of opinion
  4. DON'T use a solvent. I'm unsure what the generator construction is but any solvent can damage insulation on the wires. Best to carefully wipe dry with clean cloths. Cause of leak is another problem!
  5. I've heard quite a lot of reports about them, I wont go near them now.
  6. From England to Estonia in five steps - England Englaid Esglaid Esgonid Esgonia Estonia Clearly some dyslexia - ko
  7. If you can find a dealer you're happy with - well done you. I kept the Fazer six years and only had the first 'free' service done otherwise oil changes new plugs and filters were down to me, cable adjustments etc were no problem. I traded in & the dealer was surprised at the lack of service but still gave me a good trade in price. Took my chance with the warranty service requirement too Also theres probably a different attitude in Manchester dealers than Somerset ones!
  8. Thanks for the points you have made. I've readjusted the suspension to mid setting and it seems better although when it scared me last time, midway through a fast corner my milage was only 300 so the tyres were ,perhaps, not ready for too much lean. The dealer recommended softening the rear to lower the ride height but thats rubbish as softening only reduces the spring loading not the height. The fuel injected TDM wont have the choke problem but I was a bit 'miffed' with the lack of centre stand - had one fitted since. I gave it some welly and the exhaust at 7k sounded great heyhey - enjoy your tdm If I find a good dealer i'll stick with him but I wont pay loads out for a spotty 17yr old to put his oily hands on MY bike when I can change oil, plugs and filters myself - take care not to scratch it
  9. The TDM is everything you've said but the 900 6speed is more . I fitted a taller screen and centre stand, it feels like it would drive all day with no problems for me. I'm still running in, nearly there so have given it a short burst or two - sounds great. Pulls through the gears no effort only prob is I'm going into corners too fast Have fun.
  10. the dials adjust the reach you need to hold the levers Pull the lever in a little, adjust the dial and release the lever, you'll find it's position has changed.
  11. If my computer ever broke I would have it repaired urgently as I would miss these laughs soooo much.
  12. I've a tdm for 6 weeks now, almost run in and I'm pleased, but not so pleased that I can say no probs in the corners. The Fazer loved the bends but the tdm feels unstable with a front wheel wobble at a fast corner (75) makes me nervous. The ride postion is fantastic I could ride for hours and the balance is good at slow and higher speeds.
  13. A light tap on the caliper will help free up any trapped air a bit like winding the baby
  14. OK Dlawed, where are you? Depending on which registration documents you have, look in them and the vin is written there. If the bike came without registration documents you are stuffed.
  15. Well, I suppose Clarkson has to live somewhere but then again -
  16. Sorry to hear you have the threat of redundancy Did you take out insurance on the loan, it should cover redundancy. Also, do you have other bikes you could sell? My guess is you'd lose more than £1500 on a resale of the R6, but you can always ask. Best of luck
  17. I take it you're not a fan of race replica R1 R6 etc Having just bought a TDM 900 I suddenly have NO R1 envy, the lads on the little seats with wrists that ache - no thanks - but that could be my age
  18. Hi. M&P motorcycle accessories do a range of bellypans. A pan suitable for the TDM is around £90 but, in my opinion it's not as good looking as the Yam bellypan but it's considerably cheaper . Have you fitted any other extras? I have the extended screen and Scottoiler. Just ordered the circular stops that fit on the frame in case I drop it.
  19. I've just fitted a scottoiler to my TDM but my Fazer is spray on lubrication. Either way takes some commitment if you want to make the chain last, it needs to be cleaned regular.
  20. so thats what a whore's minge spray smells like - now I know!
  21. Check the tyres are ok, no splits or perished if stored with flat tyre. Are the brakes free, no binding and they release ok. Is the brake pad plenty of life left? Is the battery charged up. Have fun
  22. I agree with jimmythehat but also I'd change the plugs too.
  23. Hi brokenbike, I'd try flushing and cleaning the cooling system with fresh water, also check the radiator cooling fins are not externally blocked with old leafs and dirt. you could try washing the radiator with a pressure hose from the back, that will blow any rubbish out the front. Dont forget to use antifreeze mix in system
