  1. I never got the chance to ride with my dad but have been lucky enough to ride with my youngest son, my daughter has taken up riding again ( she had a twist and go years ago in her collage days) but some bastard stole her bike a few weeks ago. She plans to take her test later this year and get a cruiser of some sort, so maybe I'll be taking a trip to Brum and riding with her, now that would be cool.
  2. Trust me this country is full of them
  3. Don't worry about your L plates, we've all been there although for some of us it was a year or three back, as long as you don't ride like a plonker you will accepted by most. YES nod, feel free to nod, by all means return the nod Did I say nod
  4. Don't object to being called a biker, been called lot of things over the years including rocker, greaser and even called a hell's angel. Back in the late 60's I remember I fancied a girl where I worked, thought I was doing alright but when I asked her out she point blank refused, said she couldn't go out with a hell's angel.
  5. FFS I've got a new bike so does that make me a wallet warrior!!
  6. I guess my music taste is a bit like me - so that's old then but do listen to all sorts. Got three grown up kids so I've listened to a lot of crap different music over the years
  7. Great tip, having grown up with crappy drum brakes I thought disc brakes were all basically the same, guess what they say about never being too old to learn is true - even for an old fart like me
  8. Sorry guys don't have a clue, there is nothing like that on my bike, when I changed my pipes I just had to remove the o2 senser and fit it to the new pipes.
  9. Only one question, what f...ing hair Loads of coffee shops in Woking, I'll let you chose
  10. Well slice its a bit of a long story but I'll give you the condensed version. For the last year or so I have been driving the rag top escort that I gave Mrs meat as a Christmas present in 2000. She really loved that car (nearly as much as me) and the only reason that I kept it after I lost her in 2013 was because it reminded me of so many good times that we had together. To be honest it needed replacing years ago but Mrs meat wasn't having any of that but now I've decided that its got to go as it needs to much work to keep it on the road and I'll always have those good memories with or without her car. So my birthday present to myself is a new rag top. I'll never give up the bike but now all that time on my hands is going to used up by riding and driving.
  11. That's true slice but its been too cold and wet to go out on the bike much but hopefully that will change soon. Most of my friends and family think that when I go out riding for pure pleasure, I can just imagine what they will be saying when my birthday present to myself arrives next month.
  12. That's why us V twin riders like loud pipes Drewps, stops us being rocked to sleep Funny my youngest says it looks like a Harley. Don't think Noise will complain after all it is for a little girl ( anyway I still think the little 535 that I had was fun to ride) Not sure the quality is good enough to sell and it was really a one off special for little Alice My youngest who's 27 this year is also jealous and wants to keep it.
  13. Just finished making this for her first birthday, it's not until August but wanted to make use of the crap winter weather.. Although the design is mostly mine, I did pinch the idea from a Canadian web site and used his method of putting it togerther but of course I had to make it as a v twin. It's made from 3 sheets of 2' X 4' plywood cut out with a router and then glued/pinned/screwed/dowelled together, the forks are made out of a bit of scrap 2" X 4".that I shaped with my router and a home made jig and the headlight is made from a wood furniture foot bought from the bay of fleas. I must say that I am quite pleased with it and hope that she will enjoy playing on it.
  14. Greetings and welcome to the world of cruising. How about a little picky of the bike.
