  1. Welcome! That's a nice looking DT you have there! IF the chain came off on the road, you are really lucky it didn't come off while you were bouncing about in the mud. lol Hopefully an easy job to fix!
  2. I did try to google the specs of the bikes but kept getting varying answers lol In that case the WR will shit on the CCM! Not sure what brakes are recommended for the conversion, i have been looking online- but a lot of post have just the before and after pictures with no word as to what they did, how they did it or even what they used to do it.
  3. I never did make it to check out what gear they had, could have got some jeans at a decent price too!
  4. Perfect! check to see if it's one of those mesh ones that can be reused (for example with my husky you just wash the filter in petrol rinse/dry then put back in at the same time as changing oil.) i think this is the type that are on the 2002 426 if i did see it right. always a good idea to get rid of the pervious owners oil and filter as you never know how longs it's been there. PLEASE check though as i haven't a clue what type are on that bike of yours. Reading the add, it sounds like it's ready to go offroading, quick change of the oil and filter then straight off to the lanes. ..... if you can find some! i haven't a clue where to looks either, apparently you can ask at your local council offices- but i'm not sure what you'd ask for. HOPEFULLY someone will come along and let you know.
  5. just had a look on Autotrader.....that thing looks spotless! real nice should be a good step up from that 250! Yep serious bit of kit, you'll be digging ditches from full throttle blasts Just out of curiosity, do you have any idea of how often the oil/filter needs doing ? from what i hear they are fairly regular but not too over the top.
  6. If you rode that thing hard they'd never find you again without a chopper ....... but i am not suggesting anything hahaha
  7. Welcome to the YOC, sorry i don't know of any where near there to go laning. BUT i would love to see some pics of your bike! what year is it?
  8. Should be able to accelerate about as quick as your old CCM, and i suspect even better round the corners. Might have to ride it a bit harder then the 600, but shouldn't be much difference between them when going flat out. Heres one chasing down an XT660- might help you get some kind of idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPosze9lf0k There is a video on youtube, every time i watch i can't help but seriously consider getting a set of supermoto wheels for the TE. (skip to about 5:40) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1dInhZvy7o Instead of getting the wheels made, have you looked to see if you can buy a set? (ebay) - might save a fair few quid?
  9. looks promising! i will be following this thread, that's for sure.....see if you can get this done before i finally sort out my DRs tank lol. Yeah plenty of easy jobs to do without the engine, brakes like you say, check wheel bearings, fork seals , that left hand guard looks snapped in the picture? whatever wheels you use the bike is a monster, but with those stubby SuMo wheels that thing will take corners like a boss....will leave any supersport on the real tight stuff.
  10. Pretty sure it's real! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MGAWx1nm48&list=UU-lHJZR3Gqxm24_Vd_AJ5Yw
  11. Thanks for the input everyone! much appreciated I think they look pretty cool. i might get a set.... we shall see Maybe some stealthy black ones.
  12. tassels?......oh.....Jesus..... hahaha yeah i know what you're getting at, but some of use never did grow up.
  13. Just what the title asks really? They seem to a nice coverup for unsightly spokes, however my concern is that they will trap moisture and muck causing the spokes to rust more and quicker. Has anyone ever used them or have an opinion on the matter? This is what they look like: and this video shows how they are put on, also helps to see what they are and how they work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWrAz7OZhsQ Not too sure if i'm sold on them.
  14. Good detective work sir!
  15. I haven't a clue matey, i'll just take your word for it lol. TTR was my best guess.
  16. I went out the other Sunday with a couple of family members that i would say are a bit older then myself....... after i few hours i was done for. Just couldn't keep the bike upright- i didn't throw the towel in mind you, i did keep trying. They could tell that i was fucked though lol and said it was time to call it a day. i think i need to hit the gym..... and i can see why she might throw the towel in after a full morning of it. When you say it was a pity because she was doing well....do you mean she was a sexy lady?
  17. nice Tommy! is it a smaller ttr 125/250? Good to see that they have a bike for the 'little' people too lol. Pretty certain it's the A2 that i have! good to know I would say that falling is a very big part of riding in the muddy stuff! Only twice in two days is not bad at all! Like i keep saying- looks like a bloody good time mate!
  18. Pretty sure you can have full MOT with no indicators - That's how my husky is. BUT i will say that using indicators at night is a VERY good idea. Stands out soo much more, i also suspect that some people don't realize that bikes can use hand signals.
  19. Sounds great Tommy. How did you find those big bikes on the muddy stuff? When i get a unrestricted license, i'll be up for it! (next summer at the earliest). What bike(s) did you get to try out?

Well it has been about a month and still no more updates. Firstly i found a full set of used plastics for the husky - at the price they were, i'd have been stupid not to buy then. Especially as they are fairly rare to find in 'okay' condition. Also the huskys MOT is in a couple of weeks and needs some money chucking at it to pass. - two new tyres, new headlight, chain rollers, front brake pads.....and that's all i have noticed so far. air filter - not for MOT obviously but it does need changing. Front inner tube from a greenlaning puncture last Sunday. When i actually get something don, i'll be sure to post. This thread aint dead yet.
  21. Keeping it enduro will save on headaches and stress. Greenlaning is certainly a hobby of mine- nothing like it, plus having a dirtbike on the road is great fun. Think about what kind of tyre you need - things like AC10s last NO time especially when used a lot on the road- but are great in the mud. I think i got about 350-400 miles out of the rear tyre on the husky and the center all almost all gone. With the head and barrel, i would suggest you try to find out what other years have the same (see what else is compatible) it will make finding parts even easier. Can't wait to see this project thread. Good luck
  22. Welcome to the YOC. Great bike for a project, my uncle has the 426......they are fucking monsters! I am also a fan of the big single engines- DR650 and husqvarna te610 Are you going to do the supermoto conversion or keep the enduro wheels? Have you got any pictures? TONS of parts for the WR online (original and aftermarket) , so you shouldn't have any problem finding the bits you may need.
  23. Petitioning OUR government for less taxes? HAAAHH. yeah that will work!
