  1. ahh i see okay yeah fair enough matey, i think i will go and check them out now. sounds good to me Only thing i will say about people saying not to go for the bigger bikes is that....they will only go as fast as you let them but the temptation will be there....who knows just depends on how much of a dick the rider is? lol thanks for all the help and advice gang
  2. i think you have to do A2 tests on 400's now , not allowed to do it on 125's (from when the laws changes) this is as far as i know
  3. no eddie you must (after the 19th) be 24! to do direct access or i think have an A2 for at least 2 years.
  4. after reading the link dirty posted i just realized i will still only be restricted from taking the next test for 2 years not until i'm 24 as i first thought (bear in mind 24 is 3 and a half year away! ) that's something i guess, the rush is to be honest the fact that im bored of the 125. dt for a couple of years...maybe. XT on the other hand at what is it 10 hp? and engine screaming to do 60 (maybe the DT does to?) poor little thing. living in the middle of nowhere it's a long old journey to anywhere really. slow outside of the 30 and 40 mph zones. I really don't like ragging a machine about all the time. drz is looking like an option
  5. yes indeed not much choice really eh. As for once around the block test, that's what all the people with bikes in my family did (well as far as i know anyways...i'll look into that) as they are a fair bit older then me and there still alive and kicking. I'm convinced they don't want people on bikes, i have my thoughts why but not 100% sure. The fact that i have to do my CBT, theory , mod one and mod two don't really bother me its the for the younger ones assuming they want to ditch the L plates will have to do this all a total of 3 times! actually not 100% sure if you have to do theory again ,or cbt? still a piss take

    MOT

ahh thanks! i'm sure someone told me you did once, but thanks for blowing that BS outa the water! and thanks for the speedy reply's gang ALSO just saved me a few bucks BONUS!
  7. no it isnt , true enough cynic...but i do like a challenge i used to piss about on an older xt600, but yeah i doubt they even compare. abit heavy (not too heavy mind you) and not amazing for blasting about off road would be nice to have something that doesent feel like its going to dismantle its self when going over a pothole or whatever maybe a 250, i will have to do the maths on power to weight and all that crap. and i do realize there are other models about, ill do some hunting also any ideas would be cool.

    MOT

passed my MOT today after not being able to ride it (well on the main roads anyways ) for the past 3 or soo weeks. The chain needed tightening soo the guy pretty much did it for me and then just an advisory on the front disk pads so when i got home i ordered a pair, should i consider changing the disk at the same time? there seems to be plenty of life left in it ...? All in all VERY happy will be out on it Sunday ........feel like doing some greenlaning i think bloody chuffed to be honest
  9. PS THESE STUPID NEW LAWS, damn gov keeps interfering with vehicle laws and trying to say its to make the roads safer blah blah. if there's any difference in safety whys my insurance just keep going up? i think they have us by the balls and they are pulling this shit as more and more people start looking at bikes for transport due to the extortionate prices of running a car,. god help you if you 17 or 18 you'll be paying thousands just in insurance plus getting pulled all the time basically because you are young. its not on, really annoys me. just you watch soon enough a bike wont be all that much cheaper then a car as it gets more popular, other then the actual amount of petrol it take to run.
  10. new A2 license = Medium motorcycles up to 35 kW (and a power-to-weight ratio not more than 0.2 kW per kg), bike mustn’t be derived from vehicle more than twice its power. Any ideas what off road bikes fall into this category now then? i have been looking around and it would appear they have really done us over on this one, almost none of the bigger engine MX bikes even come close to meeting these lets say 'very specific' power and power to weight ratio's (mainly the power to weight being an issue). Also it would seem that in order to restrict a bike down to these is going to have to be a dyno job as the only kits i can find are for 33 BHP and with some of these bikes 33 is still to powerful for the power to weight ratios. whats the score here then guys, i may have some of these numbers wrong, just looking for any corrections if need be and any ideas of what bike. WR450F MILES over the power to weight ! reason for this question is that i will be booking my self in for lessons and test as soon as the law changes as its obviously far too late to try for the old laws now hahah looking for a real off road bike nothing too heavy ideally no more then like 130 150 KG and best at about 120 or less
  11. awww thanks sacha! yeah bit of a random question to be fair. ahh well fingers crossed , might phone up the DVLA tomorrow and see if they can assist
  12. i have one to admit, changed my wheels over to the enduro but never bothered to change the kickstand. one day i pushed it out of the garden onto my road which is a pretty steep hill considering, popped it on the stand, it seamed okay i then turned around to close the gate and heard a big old bang and smash....i turned around and bike was on its side and some of the lights and bulbs had seemingly exploded on impact ....just as well i had my helmet on as my face was glowing lol
  13. I have seen a WRF advertised fairly locally. However the bike was stolen from the owner who then recovered it fairly shortly after but the vin number had been ground out of the frame, but engine number is still in tact. the person has the crime number to prove this is the case. what i would really love to know is do i have any chance of getting an MOT on this, as tax and MOT have ran out. also might there be any complications with getting insurance on it and also for them to pay out in the event of an accident? any advise or knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
  14. i changed the rear indicators on my XT and went for LED there plenty bright enough and don't stick out too much there only about four and a half inches long and just over half an inch of that goes inside the bike anyways. i will get some pics eventually but at the moment my bike is in the shed in pieces, too the point where i wont even be able to turn the indicators on. ALSO i have only bothered changing the rear ones for now as the handlebars seem to protect the front ones abit better i used these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-X-MOTORCYCLE-12V-16LED-TURNING-SIGNAL-INDICATOR-LIGHT-BULB-W-FLASHER-RELAY-Z52-/180972434249?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a22cc3349 4 for a tenner cant knock that? and at least two of them have worked hahah, i'm sure i saw the exact same ones in the NEC bike show for £15 a pair
  15. i keep getting it on my xt125 due to there being a vacuum petrol feed that seems to not stop the petrol going through or its just whats in the line flooding it? Every time it happens i have to strip the bike take the carb off tip all the the petrol out of it (the carb) put back together and works every time. but you say you have a petrol switch? so maybe its just the amount of petrol left in the line that has flooded it? just a suggestion..good luck ALSO posting an introduction will help your chances of getting more reply's and suggestions how do you find the WR400 anyways? thinking of getting one or the 450 when i pass my test, look lovely and not much bits sticking out from the frame.....i have gone through soo many rear brake reservoir on my XT , too the point that i have made a small piece of metal to go over it in the hope that it will help it take wee bumps....we shall see hahaha. also seat height? im about 5fot 9 might i be abit too short for one?
  16. that 2nd video, shorts and a fucking hoodie?!!?! ..... ....who's a silly boy then hahahaha
  17. one of the related videos to that one then!!!..................... Rise of the Planet of the Apes hahahah monkeys uses gun..must be planet of the apes time
  18. oh also for the Americans...is that bike road legal by the looks of it as there's no reg plate on the back? or is he just flying about the city on a full blown dirt bike? rebel lol
  19. hahahah brilliant reply, and no i dont agree with what he is doing at all!... he'll either be leaving a big old patch of skin behind or the contents of his head......also Americans don't really seam to be as bothered as others about helmets or leathers. of if they do its a leather jackets and one of those helmets that don't even cover your face, or am i just generalizing? is wearing biking protection not cool over there or wah??
  20. AND 700 excess on the bloody car! sorry abit of an off topic rant but it takes the piss to be fair
  21. still alot cheaper then a car.... i am pretty young but live in the middle of nowhere and car is still about £3500 in my own name...3RD PARTY! (surely it isn't just me that does not have THAT kind of cash to spare?) ah well at least it gave me abit of a push into getting into the biking world FYI bike is about £250 a year for the same cover! and no i don't drive an evo 8 or whatever hahaha
