  1. I have been monitoring how things go on my blog and any failures, I've got nothing to hide. At the moment its rusted less than my ybr did. I loved the YBR, but my exhuast had nearly corroded through in 2 months and the rear arm was rusting. Speaking of which the YBR was made in china, just with better quality control, so don't knock the chinese bike till you tried it haha Early days yet though, we'll see how it goes only like 4 more months and its big boy bike time hopefully, which I'm struggling to decide on as I find the last incarnations of the yammy bikes abit ugly at the front. I tried a Diversion F 600, nice bike all around just hate the front starfish headlight.
  2. I've been keeping a close look at everything, the welds are okay, pretty messy, but I will be repainting the entire rear arm as the paint work is as good as modern cars now. But I know what you means, at 18 I bought at golf GTI, at 21 when I was expecting a daughter, I went out and bought a house. So I've always worked hard but as usual there's someone stupid enough to steal from the hard working. I've done a bit of welding, but whats shocking is these bikes come as a kit to a dealer that resellers them of, in this case lexmoto sells the bikes. But TBH the way the dealer assembled the front of the bike was shocking, the warranty is rubbish, so I wish I just ordered it Ikea flat packed and done it myself as I had to scrutinize it on the first day of ownership as them monkeys didn't do up the front very well or apply any grease in areas where you would expect. For this reason I decided to ditch the warranty and deal with things myself as they come, I did do alot of homework before I got this one as it did seem to be the best build quality out of the other chinese stuff on the market. I'm always looking on the FB pages encase I can see a common problem. But what really annoys me is how the manufacturers charge an extortionate amount for some parts, IE they wanted £70 for a chinese 30mm carb, I got a brand new Mikuni 30mm for £25, again same thing with many other common parts like front sprockets they want £10 a sprocket, I found a bike that shares the same sprocket for £5 and so on.... Other parts are not to bad. The engine is the only thing people really praise, not as refined as the yammy engine but it will do, if the bike falls apart the engine will end up on my daughters go kart that I am planning to build, so thats my back up plan haha.
  3. Its a Lexmoto XTR-S 125 The hub issue was a pain, but the bolts are locked in using a bent linking mechanism, that stops the bolts from spinning loose, but the rear of the hub has nothing of that nature as they are just to cheap to buy some locking nuts to begine with. Sam with the nuts that hold the carb in, same nonsense. Its shocking what most manufacturers would do to make bike A B or C cost £5 less on a huge production line. Luckily I have plenty of tools from working on cars etc... so doing it wasn't too bad. So far its not gone to bad, but early days. I've not spent more than £150 tuning it up a tad as in its stock form it was awful, it handles better than the YBR but I do miss the YBR's engine, that thing would sail all day 70-80mph on a 13T front sprocket.
  4. I've ended up getting a chinese bike to last me till summer for the full test when i turn 24 as I lost a heavy amount on the insurance policy, I've also ended up building a mini drive with two underground anchors latticed together by steel and 40N cement. And the new chinese whip which I'm more than bound to get abuse about http://xtrsproject.wordpress.com/
  5. Chain was used and insurance was third party plus fire and theft, chain and lock has gone with the bike. From what I understand, payout will take some time as they usually have about a 6 week cool down period before payout, encase it reappears. I've still got to pay off the bike through finance and then there's paying off the excess and remainder of insurance as I was only 2months in, after making a claim I understand you have to still pay insurance for that year. Be a while till I get a new bike. Plus remortgage coming up. Not the best time for things to go wrong. What I am going to do is rebuild the tiny front porch/garden I have and level it out to street level and put two anchors in, flood light with PIR and maybe a mini CCTV system rather than keeping it in the road for next bike. Anyone have experience with using the disc brake alarms and the mini sim card trackers, are they any good as I know they draw a small amount of current? Thanks for the support everyone and keep spreading the word encase it does reappear.
  6. Bike had chain through front wheel with lock elivated. Kent police wern't to intrested, however I found a FB group where someone with the same bike and a 62plate had there's stolen Friday just gone, very strange. I've contacted them with no luck to see how they are getting on. http://www.facebook.com/itsbeenstolen (Other YBR 125 that got stolen very near me) P**sed doesn't do it justice I would of only had it two months and only on second payment, now I need to settle my finances. Set up a saved ebay search with daily email, but there's to many places to look so if anyone notices anything suspicious on gumtree etc around Dartford and Gravesend in Kent, let me know.
  7. Sadly my YBR-125 was stolen last night 09/01/13 in Northfleet, Kent area (between Gravesend & Dartford), it disappeared around 1700-1820. The colour of the bike is Black with the stock factory red decals and a black puig windscreen fitted, the reg is: LV62 ACX, I would of had it only 2months from factory from today so it is very dissapointing. If anyone has any details or could put this up on any forums it would be appreciated! Just to sum up: Make: Yamaha Model: YBR 125 Colour: Black/Red Registration: LV62 ACX Area: Northfleet, Kent Date of theft: 09/01/13 1700-1820 Also stolen Ad is on FB: http://www.facebook.com/groups/409576932432607/ Can mods move this if incorrect section, thanks for any help in advance
  8. Sadly not, I just ordered an adhesive one, gonna chuck it on the puig windscreen as its blacked out. It's on the side poking out the forks which is annoying as it flaps about. Where in Kent are you as I live in gravesend. Loving the bike so far, shame it isn't a bit more powerful for the a2 as its a pain when an incline comes up and you start dropping to 60 with cars merging. Any simple mods that can be done to the bike as I think the puig windscreen completes it.
  9. Thanks everyone! I did the CBT with Motopass in Welling at the Haris academy, sadly its not your old bike, its newely register 62 plate. Only thing is I'm struggling finding a nice place to put front L plate on. Also I have already fitted a Puig screen, will have to get some photos up.
  10. Hi, I'm new but I've used the search function and cannot find a solid answer. I have a brand new YBR (injection) and have enjoyed the bike. My commutes on a 70mph road (A2). I've read about some sprocket info such as 1T on front is roughly 3T on back etc. What I am after is if anyone has done a extra tooth on the front. I am familiar with gear ratios so I understand acceleration will go down if I increase the front by 1T which isn't a concern as wider gears would be nicer for cruising and I imagine the wider 5th will drop you more into the powerband when doing 60/70 to aid the bike. So really I'm looking for someone that's done this on the following bike or similar and too see results if its worthwhile. Any help/advice/input is appreciated
  11. Hey everyone, my names Alex. I've just bought a new YBR 125 and I've never rode before, so this is a whole new game for me. Did my CBT this Saturday and picked the bike up the same day. Looking forward to learning more and working up to a bigger bike. I've had experience with working on cars a fair amount as my other toy is a VW Golf 1.8T currently pushing 200bhp yet I find the ~10bhp bike more fun!
