The Hosts have been working on it all morning. They've just told me that the database has been damaged beyond repair. It's looking increasingly like the Hackers are back again but I'm waiting for the Hosts to confirm that. Hopefully it will be up and running later on yesterday's backup but we will have lost all posts from the last 24 hours at least.

Went down about 9am this morning, so I put in a support ticket and the Hosts are still working on it at the moment. I'm just praying it's not the Hackers back again.

I don't think they could Scott....they don't even have a donor engine they could use, cos all the small cruiser motors are just too old tech and lardy. It would mean a brand new motor with all the associated R&D costs...so it would be very pricey indeed.

Exactly how I feel Alan! If Yamaha can bring out a Strom-beater at a competitive price then I'd go for it. However the chances of them eclipsing the Strom like the Fazer did to the Bandit is virtually zero. Scott's ridden the Strom and I think he'll agree that it would be a very tall order for Yamaha to try and outclass it.

So let's get this right! We have... An Admin with no bike. An Admin with a Suzuki. A Mod with a Honda as a mainbike and an old Yam. A Mod thinking of selling his Yam to get a Kawasaki. And just one Mod with a fulltime Yam. I think it's time for a general forum you know!

Managed to get 117 miles in yesterday....so the Strom is now up to 173 miles. I left Llandod and stopped first in Newtown at the dealers. Here's mine next to the demo Strom! Then I continued North to Machynlleth via the A470, and across to the coast and down to Aberytswyth. Then back across the mountain road to Llangurig....the infamous road where bikers regularly manage to kill themselves. No idea how they manage it! Then a stop for a coffee and let the gormless natives see what a real man on a real motorcycle looks like! Then over the mountain to Llangurig and south to Rhayader. Stopped for another coffee and saw this classic on it's way to Farnborough. And then finally back to Llandod. 117 miles today and a total of 173....so still a lot of running in to do. The Strom is absolutely superb....I can only go up to 5K revs which is roughly 70, but it's no struggle at all. The bike is so comfortable and relaxing and is still able to pass most traffic even at those low revs. On the mountain road I was able to test out the handling a bit....and it's simply phenomenal. It takes everything in it's stride with a minimum of effort. And at the moment my rough estimate is that it's returning over 60mpg. So I'm a happy bunny! I love the Strom, and as far as I'm concerned (and you can quote me on this).... .......It's the Bike I've waited all my life for!
