I think its 10 as that is the figure other bikes seem to have and I don't have a manual and as the bike is so rare I am struggling to find the correct figures. So I stopped to find out before I over or under tighten them
-
Sorry if this is somewhere else but I am trying to refit the camshafts on my xj700 maxim and worried about the torque setting for the camshaft bolts(are they called journals?) I think its 10nm
-
maybe, its definitely a cruiser to look at, underneath its very similar to a xj900, but nothing actually matches
-
are there any users here who own an xj700 maxim, they are few and far between, its amazing how many people argue with me its not what i say it is, usually spouting off what they know it is/was built from even though they have never seen one before! i'm interested in what other people do with theirs, tips about looking after them that sort of thing.

Just arrived home with a Townmate T80....

Nice job. I had one of these ages ago and it was strangly likable. Definiately a living room ornament! -
I have a 700 maxim, not quite the same i know, but my clutch slips the same, it doesnt always do it though so its hard to tell if its worn or just to much power but think i will wait until its really bad before changing it.

I had an 80cc townmate once and apparently it was well sort after but i didnt like. Swopped it for a gpz305, still not sure who got the better deal....

Hahhahahahaha. As in the top one hundred theories.... Never say someone is useless, they can always be used as a bad example!

It appears to be the connector the fuel line attaches to the carb, what a bummer man
-
Had to stop using my xj700 maxim to commute until i have time to look at it, everytime i stop at a junction or traffic lights it wets its self! Cant find the leak but petrol is running from the bottom of the carbs like a tap but stops when the engine is off. :/

Had a driving instructor go nuts at me for driving behind a learner and being patient, must be because all motorbikes are evil, its the only explanation!
-
Not in heavy traffic?
-
I dont really get all the areas? Is general for me to say i generally love my bike?

Its not the speed, (my125 topped at 95mph ), its doin it in the right place and time
